Are there people out there who are still living normally considering all these shutdowns? Other than the guys on CE who said they "didn't notice any changes" because "they went to the grocery store and it was still open"?

Eh I don't have an issue in living your life if you're not having symptoms, making a priority to keep clean, and not touch people.

Were going to have to eventually learn to cope with Corona in our lives, this isn't just going to go away.

Many carriers are asymptomatic for up to 14 days. Idiots who think they're invincible because they're not showing symptoms, or who don't care if they are because they're expecting that for them it'll be only mild, are likely to be dangerously complacent about spreading it.

I agree that this is not something that'll ever go away completely, and we can't put life on hold permanently. But can't they exercise a little fucking restraint and just wait until there's a vaccine, so other people have a better chance of being protected from the consequences of irresponsible behaviour?

That's why we still need to practice social distancing and to keep clean regardless if you feel sick or not.

A vaccine isn't a cure, people are still going to get it and die from it. Older people are still going to die even with a vaccine.

What you say is absolutely true. However, a properly vaccinated population should at least steeply reduce the chances of transmission -- although admittedly, that might take quite a while.

I have a personal reason to be sensitized to this: my wife has an autoimmune disease that places her in a medium-risk category. I can't tell you how much it infuriates me to read some fuckwit praising other fuckwits who just don't give a shit about spreading it because for them, it's only "the sniffles". And the first fuckwit turns moral logic on its head by describing the second lot of fuckwits as brave. Bravery is something you do despite the dangers to yourself; fuckwittery is something you do despite the dangers to other people.

I have a home gym, my hobbies are trail running and backcountry skiing, which I can do out my back door. My favorite restaurant still delivers. All my friends are also running and skiing

My life has not changed at all.
