(WTXL) Five college students in Florida have tested positive for coronavirus after returning from a spring break trip.

The University of Tampa announced Saturday that five students from the school tested positive for COVID-19 and four of them returned to campus after their spring break trip.

UT says, "All are self-isolating the latter four on campus -- and none have been hospitalized."

The school didn't say where the students went for their spring break trip, but said all five were traveling together along with other UT students from March 8 through 15.

A sixth student also tested positive for COVID-19 after traveling internationally. That student is also self-isolating.

I was so pissed a few weeks ago when they came to my area.

this happened around friday last week. people gotten pissed when a ton of tourists came despite a health emergency. they banned hotels until further notice. said they're welcome to come when this shit blows over.

there's alot of elderly population in this area and they don't want the hospital to get overwhelmed. (not alot of ventilators).
edit: i hope they don't close the beaches. there's alot of locals who happen to respect the social distancing outside and i need it for my dog walk (she's elderly now).

Honestly they could have got it from just getting their mail in the morning. This is why it's important for us to just hunker down, keep washing our hands, and if for whatever reason we do need to go outside just keep your distance from people.

We really shouldn't be villainizing people who have the virus when the vast majority are going to get it.

If you actually isolated and followed the instructions from the government, if society actually did this, the majority of society I mean, you'd see a drastic decrease in the spread of this and a very low percentage of society would get it. I'm sure I don't need to explain this to you.

If the government had issued a lockdown, or if Florida had then I can understand your issue. Right now there is no mandatory lockdown rule in place, domestic air and ground transportation is still a thing. These kids didnt break any kind of law, your anger should be directed at the Florida politicians that havent enacted a mandatory lockdown.

Edit: sorry also misread that these kids live in Florida but does not state where they got it. Unless they did spring break in NY or San Francisco where a lockdown is in place then you cant really blame them.

I agree with you all btw that if we want to curb the spread then Trump needs to issue a state wide mandatory shutdown and ground all air transportation.
