Bet you it's full of loopholes the rich will use to get even more money out of it and with such brazen and celebrated corruption the checks that DO go out will only go to certain families in certain communities above the poverty line

Elections are won through the media, not voters.

Informed voters don't decide elections, well at least in favor for the candidate they would vote for. This has been going on for over a decade now.

Yeah this seems the most likely. Stall in hopes of things calming down and if it does, go back on their promise.

Their were probably planning to go back regardless, but they won't look as bad if the emergency is over.

You are right, but socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor is a popular saying these days. Yeah, socialism isn't handing money out to people, but in popular vernacular of today it is used like that. I blame that fact the masses have no idea what socialism is.

Nah they are shooting for early April still.

The amounts of the one-time payments, which officials hope could go out to Americans as soon as early April, will be based on income reported in 2018 taxes, declining gradually beginning with individuals who made $75,000 or married couples filed jointly who made $150,000. Individuals making $99,000 or above or married couples making $198,000 or more would receive no check. People would also receive an additional $500 per child.

And this is what the neoliberals running the DNC count on. They don't want progressives in their party. Period.

"blue no matter who" and "anyone but Trump" reinforces their holding on the status quo. They'd rather Trump win because he's not a progressive and he at least appeals to their corporate interests. So yeah, if you plan on voting Biden because you think you're going to make progress in this country, you're uninformed.

Damning the country for some moral high ground... disqualies you of it. I saw this as someone who voted 3rd party in 2016.

If you think the whole system is shit? I agree. If you don't want to vote for the lesser evil, I agree. But 2020 is not the time to protest vote.

You don't vote Biden for progress, you vote him to stop the reversal of progress. Or do you honestly think Trump and his cronies won't try to undo the things we've fought for?

So they tell people to vote anyone but Trump because they want Trump to win? Your tinfoil hat appears to be cutting off the flow to your brain.

Face it. More voters came out for Biden than Bernie. I would have gladly voted Bernie over Trump in the general if it came to that, but it didn't. Biden beat Bernie. These fantasies that somehow someone who lost the primary would do better than someone who won are ridiculous.

Remember when Bernie was winning and you people were all "better vote Bernie in the general!" but now your guy lost and you're going to pout and vote Trump or not vote like spoiled children. Real "progressive" of you.

I disagree. 2020 is the time to protest vote. If Biden wins, that's 8 years guaranteed of regressive politics. If he loses, that's only 4 years. And on top of that, it sends a message to the DNC that running out corporate centrists isn't going to win presidential elections anymore. It gives progressive candidates more power, which this country and quite frankly the world desperately needs considering the ticking time bomb of climate change and exponentially growing income gap.

But yeah, if you want to go blue no matter who, prepare yourself to be disappointed that your student debt won't be cancelled. Your health care won't be paid for. The country will continue to get hotter. You will continue to pay absurd amounts for higher education. Corporations will continue to get significantly larger bailouts than working people in times of crises, and you will continue to see the US meddle in foreign politics creating an even larger amount of hate and animosity towards us from fringe extremist groups.

Areas with significantly younger citizens were purposely obstructed for voting in the primaries. People were waiting hours in line just to vote in key areas in states like Michigan and Illinois.

And again, the media decides the election, not the informed voter. Get a bunch of boomer sheep out and voting for "NOT TRUMP" while they smear candidates like Bernie and call him a Fidel Castro supporter. Shill Biden in front of TV screens even though they can't specifically name any of his policies, nor can he.

Unless you think the conservatives that voted Trump were informed voters, then LOL

Trump winning though, some people can't survive another four years. The man who wants to take away rights from trans, gays, women, etc. The man backed by white supremacists and neo Nazis, the man who will sell us out to the highest bidder.
