Yeah, Nok-Nok is actually one of the strongest damage dealers in the game. I believe he is the strongest melee and Ekundayo is strongest ranged.

I gave Nok-Nok a few levels in Barbarian so he can bite during a Rage and gave him the cloak that deal 1d6 frost damage on bite attacks.

There are two good +2 Kukris in the goblin fort area. Both are Keen and one deals bonus Frost damage and the other bonus Fire damage.

I hope you also had Nok-Nok fight the Goblin king one on one in the story segment and got him to steal the king's unique helmet. It gives a nice +4 Dex, +3 AC, and +4 to saves vs death effects.

Yeah, the unique weapon finds are kind of weird. Almost nothing awesome like Baldur's Gate 2.

The better ones will come from artisans. Like Redeemer is the holy grail for Longswords and can only come from the artisan Nazrielle.

There is a spreadsheet online that shows what each Artisan can make.

If you're a Sorcerer, for example, you may want to get Sharel who makes clothes and robes and try to get the Leviathan Robe, because it lets you cast 6 spells per rest as if Maximized. Or Mim, and get the Amulet of Four Elements.

I already got a really nice necklace from Mim, all my fire spells are cast with +3 or 4 levels.

Past that nothing too exciting.

Came to my capital, wanted me to talk, and now she won't say anything new.

Also found out how fucking VITAL it is to have Teleportation Circles in every town.

Some of the artisans are very valuable, because they're the only good source to get good gloves, boots, and belts.

I finally got Monk girl working again.

Did a few Evil things to finish two of the quests but the people I killed sucked anyways.

Gotta find a chest of gems for the tiny witch Jolene or whatever but the place won't appear.

Just got ambushed by two (2) basic Bandits.

They didn't last more than two arrows.

Got a Greater Rod for that and for Fire.

The only issue is I'm still a little shy of being able to fully do it with that one. Gotta be able to cast level 6 spells first.

Though this is actually really exciting.

I've been trying to do my best to have no idea what my spell selection is gonna be at level-up, so I can actually explore.

This is totally different from BG, where I basically know every decision that I'll make before I finish rolling up my guy's stats.

I recommend this game. It's a little Rocky to start and definitely has issues, but I'm enjoying everything.

Honestly youre selling me a bit on replaying it. Back when I played it just got rockier and rockier after the start and the issues felt overwhelming.

Also I'm using a lot of these and they're helpful.

I don't have the Turn based or any of the ones connected to it, or the Kingdom one.

But it opens up a LOT of options on character creation.

Definitely keep an eye on the save file, though. I'm probably going to clear the history every chapter or two.

Also Amira left to go deal with the barbarians, so that's another hole in the squad.

Tossed up some buildings in my capital, Varnhold, and the new city, rolled out to where the barbarians are causing problems, and that's where I'll call it for today.

Now I've got Jamadi (who I tolerate because she went toe-to-toe with a Frost Giant and game recognizes game) and Natala (who apparently is incapable of speaking in any way other than "purring cat did something wrong and hopes you won't notice") in my throne room talking shop.

Well, with the rods, you don't need to be able cast at a higher spell level to use them. They just expend the charge and automatically apply the effect. Since they're so handy, I never did take a feat for Metamagic on my casters.

Amira can beat Armag, but I wouldn't expect it on anything but the lowest difficulty settings. And she basically needs to be built and geared specifically for that one duel. And even then, it'll likely rely on rng luck. But if she wins, it does open up an option for her later.

I stuck with Jamadi. Wouldn't be the king if she hadn't given us the opportunity. I never did get the option to get them to reconcile.

You have to be Neutral. Good/Evil doesn't matter.

I've been NG the whole time, which gives me a little freedom to be Chaotic or Lawful when the whim strikes.

I figured. I've been LG the whole game, but I still make an occasional decision for another alignment now and then.

Without spoiling it, I would say be sure to bring a few hundred thousand gold with you to Rushlight. And characters with high Athletics, mobility, trickery, etc.

I generally bring people with high skills with me.

It's kind of a requirement in this game.

So it turns out if you miss one of the artifacts on the levels before the boss the boss doesn't drop their lore artifact and it's gone forever.

Yeah. But I wanted to specify those skills, because doing the right skill check gives huge exp bonuses.

On another note, I know I don't have a ton of game left and I'm only level 17. I'm not sure I'll make it all the way to 20. Bummer.

Unless I get that Beneath the Stolen Lands dlc and it gives a lot of exp?

I still have another 6 or so to get through because it arbitrarily locks you out of progressing unless you're so far in the main plot.

Found the remains of a guy who tried to swindle a Giant Cyclops. Also found the remains of the teenagers he bribed to be a distraction.

Found some Medusas in an archeological site.

Found some dudes who fucked up a summon and summoned a bigass Grim Reaper-looking motherfucker. Oddly enough one made his saving throw and tried to help me kill it.

He had a regular crossbow.

He didn't last long.

Also a sabertooth tiger that had 321 diamond dust

I think I killed a rapper

That diamond dust is useful for Stoneskin, Communal. Great buff.

I'm debating whether or not I want to keep my Paladin using a Longsword as a twohanded weapon or respec him to a shield bashing build. Shield Bashing can be pretty strong once you get enough feats for it, but it does require a lot of feats to reach it's full potential and Paladins dont get that many.

For example, I wouldn't be able to take all of the Crane Style feats, Weapon Focus, cleaving, or any of the intimidation feats. He'd have to focus almost exclusively on bashing and two-person style feats, with maybe a grab for Outflank, Wings, and Blind Fight.

At least Paladins can get by without weapon focus with Divine Bond.

How do you two-hand a one-hand weapon?
