Only about a yearish.

Either I need to find a better shoe store, or my job is just that walk heavy.

Three or four months for my regular shoes. Back when I wore steel toes for work, they would last about eight months.

Dress shoes for work the heels and soles wear out after ~3 or 4 years. Running shoes and casual sneakers, about 10 years.

Running shoes: 3-6 months, I keep a rotation of maybe 8 at any given time and I get around 300-600 miles in them before the support gives out and they become uncomfortable and injury-provoking.

Everyday/"going out" shoes: about a year before they either become uncomfortable, extremely worn, or just not my style anymore.

Dress shoes and boots: 2-3 years as I only wear them a handful of times throughout the year.

Slippers and house shoes: around a year before the cushioning gives out and they become uncomfortable.

Depends on the type of shoe.

Tennis shoes I can make last several years. I'm going on probably seven years on this pair, though they are starting to tear up. Probably because I pretty much only wear them on weekends.

Boat shoes, about a year, but I probably shouldn't stretch it even that long. I walk a couple of miles in them five days a week (it's what I do with my lunch break, plus restroom/coffee breaks, meetings, etc).

Dress shoes, forever. I hardly ever wear them. My current pair I'm pretty sure I got after my senior year of high school, way back in '07. The soles are made of, like, solid stone or some crap (they're terribly uncomfortable) so wearing out isn't a thing.

House shoes, maybe six months? This is actually my first pair. I got them because the office in our new house has a concrete floor. I walk several miles a day in these and they have worn out quickly.
