Meh. Not a bad game literally nothing to do with Assassins Creed though....except the modern day portions that just exists to destroy what little bit of the lore was still intact and shit is actually just magic now.

I loved it; I think the changes they made to combat and progression as compared to Origins make it a lot more satisfying to play, and hoo boy it can keep you occupied for a while.

It's ok, far too bloated for it's own good. If you're gonna play it I would recommend to just skip most of the side quests and just go through the main storylines. Even that will probably take you at least 40-50 hours.

Odyssey is nice... Like for me it's 2nd to assassin's creed II
I only played 3 ac games though: 2,unity,&odyssey.

If you get it under $20 you got a game that'll keep you busy. The game will be great if you really get into the story.

and 100%ed it

but i was exhausted by the end

i don't think i would have been as exhausted if i didn't fucking marathon it towards the end

it was my first AC since Brotherhood

This. It's not an Assassin's Creed game no matter what the title may be. You don't play an assassin at all. You literally play a mercenary where the best strategy in the game is to just run up to people and start hacking away. Level scaling also sucks balls and can go die in a fire.

Seeing as all the rumors are the next game is basically just going to be the exact same thing except with Vikings, I'm not going to bother getting it. It will be the first AC game I won't play. I play Assassin's Creed games to play as a fucking assassin, not to have some open world hack and slash adventure where I pick my love interest.

I dont know why they didn't just watch dogs it that canonically exists in the same universe game even has you kill abstero employees a few times. Just set it in the past and have a different name, makes no sense to have a game that chronologically happens before the prequel game.

Origins is the reason I felt compelled to play through the whole series.

Also Odyssey really let me down with Layla's story, I am still kind of upset about that (I haven't even finished the game, I'm just aggravated that they didn't just directly continue her story from Origins and instead skipped ahead two years for no discernible reason).

The combat is the best ever and I just love the world.

Like with Origins and really most Ass Creeds, I spent hours looking up the real history of everything on the Internet

The expansions are good too, especially the wacky Atlantis one. The Hidden Blade one has some questionable narrative choices.

Unity requires an Xbox One X to run at 30 FPS as advertised

Otherwise it's a slowdown abomination on consoles

Also, people will say the xp booster for odyssey isn't needed. But it absolutely is. Level cap is now 99, and it's a massive grind to get there without the xp boost. Also, the highest tier upgrades would take you literal months of playing to get without buying gold.

That level increase was absolutely unnecessary though and there is no reason to chase it

Depends. I like syndicate more overall, but unity has an amazingly detailed and gorgeous world, and better combat, but that's about it. It runs at like 20-25fps on my ps4 slim, only slowing down in heavy particle physics moments, like smoke, fog, etc. Which, if you've played unity, you'll know is all the fucking time lol.

The XP boost in Odyssey isn't necessary imo, there's never a need to get to level 99 lol.

I just want to beat the game and enjoy the playthrough. I have zero plans of 100%ing it. So any level 99 type stuff is most likely just off my radar unless I need to hit 99 to beat the main story (doubting that).

I'll look into Origins after this topic, but seeing as I was gifted Odyssey, I think I'll start there. Hope its fun.

Well, you can't beat free.

Going from Odyssey to Origins you might be put off by some rougher/stiffer combat mechanics but overall it shouldn't feel like a big step back imo. The AI is kind of dumber and there are QOL tweaks in Odyssey that are absent in Origins though.

Nay. Its way too fucking big with way too much filler and the story is a huge letdown with no real ending. Kassandra is cool tho.

Honestly I bought the season pass for it by itself just to get the remastered version of AC 3 for free.

Later on I picked up the game on sale. Its pretty good. Just do the parts of the game you like and you can fly through the story.
