Topic.

My Comcast connection is way too slow for me to work at home, so I canceled it and got FIOS 500mb down/up instead, hence the essential need to get a tech over to install.

I normally tip these people (e.g. I tipped the Comcast guy when he came to install the system a couple years ago), but I'm not sure now:
  • I want to tip him because he's still working admist this pandemic and is risking his health by coming into my home,
  • I don't want to tip him because I don't want to give him cash (cash is dirty as fuck!).
What do?

Usually throw about $10 depending on what they do. Just a quick check or plug a couple things in and theyll get a have a good day. Spend some time actually doing some work, Ill throw them some cash.

The fuck, you guys tip your cable guy?
I do, because why not? It's hard work, with getting the cables right from the street. Now, sometimes they give me extra stuff (like ethernet cables, coaxial cables, etc.), or hook me up to a higher internet tier (this hasn't happened in the past several years, so it must now be controlled at HQ).

I tried to tip and the tech said he didn't need it. This was like 7 or so months ago.
