Outrage after Louisiana Police started using an alarm sound from THE PURGE to alert residents that a 9pm curfew is in order..

The siren was taken form the 2013 hit movie as they blasted out the siren while patrolling the streets of Crowley telling residenst hey CAN'T leave their homes until 6am the next morning.

The siren was exactly like the one in the Purge films where all crime is legal for 12 hours

They claimed they were not aware that the siren came from the horror franchise and said they would not use it again as they said they used the noise to put in place an order by the government to slow the spread as a video of the siren was posted on Facebook that said "As if things aren't bad enough. The purge siren is used to notify its citizen of evening curfew"

Allison Kathryn said "I can understand the curfew but the sirens unnecessary. Thanks for waking my baby up"

But not all were against it as Christy Finley said "It's just a siren people. Calm down and stop complaining about everything".

Hahaha omg that is awesome. Dr Phil says people are already purging in there house as domestic assault is going unnoticed due to the victims being confined to there homes. Let an innocent little snowflake get upset about this and not that welfare checks are being suspended by police deptments and that your grandma may have fallen down and not get a 911 call through. Seriously find better things to b about than a sound that was from a fictional event

The police playing the siren that's used to denote, "it's ok to rampantly murder people on a whim now!" is a bit tactless, yes.

Did make me laugh, though.

I've never seen The Purge, so would have thought nothing of it. It sounds like a generic siren to me.

I'd be pissed too if they were going around making loud noise for no reason.

Pretty generic sounded siren, when I first heard about it I was hoping it had the purge instructions in it as a lol but sadly nothing that ridiculous.

More or less my thought. I can see the humor in it but for those familiar with the tune, it could feel uncomfortable.

That being said, would playing an air siren actually be problematic given it is a real thing? How many civilian are familiar with that tune except for hearing it in movies?

Eh, it's not really any louder or more disruptive than their regular sirens, and as far as random bystanders are concerned, there's no immediate, obvious reason for that, either. One more siren in the neighbourhood each day isn't really anything to write home about.

Apparently people actually saw that movie. The premise of it was so stupid I couldn't suspend my sense of disbelief.

I thought it was bizarre but felt it was kinda no different compared to other similar battle royale like movies (i.e. The Running Man, Battle Royale, Hunger Games, etc.)

Yeah but that would be like going to a priest office or whatever it is in latin and see a couch for people outside that looks like a casting couch from certain videos and freaking out.

Dr Phil says

There is lots of real , bad people out there for sure , but Dr Phil show is nothing but irrational show where the script is done in advance .

Sadly the manipulative script used to gain more viewers has bad effect on people .
If anyone would ever take that show seriously , they are in danger .
Kind of cruel from the actor to do it , perhaps he hopes nobody believes the show , who knows .
