Rev. Tony Spell, aka Kefka, at the Life of Tabernacle Church in Louisiana INSISTS on still holding his massive service on the easter weekend despite his state being a coronavirus hotspot and orders to stay in as he said his congregantss are READY TO DIE for FAITH!!

He is facing 6 misdemeanor charges after he held Palm Sundy services last weekend with hundreds attending and many who came in 26 PACKED BUSES!!

He was UNAPOLOGETIC and when asked if he would have blood on his hands if one of his congregants got infected and died, he said "Like any revolutionary, or like any zealot, or like any pure religious person, death looks to them like a welcome friend. True christians do not mind dying, they fear living in fear"

He spoke to TMZ and said residents locked in their home are like "prisoners" and does not believe government has a right to keep people at home and close businesses nor his church

Democratic Governor, John Bel Edwards responded a month later after the outbreak for a statewide stay at home order for all residents and churches were not listed as an essential service and are prohibited

Spell says he's a victim of "religious persecution" and said the stay at home orders are a "tyranny" and flat out turned down zoom app for online services and said the people that have arleady died had died like FREE PEOPLE

Spell will defy the order again no matter the consequence and hold his service in person with massive crowds on Sunday

well, f*** the pastor for sure, who is effectively saying "god wants you to give me money even at the expense of your health and risk of your life". but for the people who actually believe him and listen, it's just sad. it's legal fraud.

lying to people to convince them to give you money is fraud (afaik). normally it's protected/disguised by religious freedom (which may or may not be a good thing), but in this case you can see it much more clearly for what it is.

I'm pretty sure God would rather his people not throw their lives away for the sake of a church service. If they want to martyr themselves like that, they should at least be doing something that actually benefits the world around them.

The problem is that these idiots go out and infect people that did nothing wrong, such as essential employees

I'm always told to start taking responsibility like an adult ,so I assume adults are responsible and they know what they are doing .

If those specific people mentioned in the topic want to have a meeting then I am sure they know if it is a risk or not .

I am leaving it to officials to decide if and what action needs to be taken .

I am not surprised tho , racism and unfairness is everywhere .

Pretty much. If it was just themselves they were endangering, sure, let them flock to their deaths. But it's very much not, and a gathering of that size will pretty reliably turn into hundreds of new cases that then get dispersed over a wider area as they all take those packed buses back home.
