I thought Alien, Alien3, and Alien Resurrection were pretty average, but worth watching; Aliens was a great film; Alien: Covernant was good; I haven't seen all of Prometheus. I think the series is generally a bit hit and miss (although none of the films I've seen were actually bad), but has plenty of cool scenes, and, of course, people like Ripley and Bishop are badasses.

I dunno. It's definitely sci-fi horror in the classic mold, with slow, moody shots of ships going slowly through space, aliens that want everyone dead, and a massive corporation that is basically pure evil. It just could've been better executed in places, especially Alien.

  • aliens is great action horror
  • alien 3 tried to go back to suspense, fell on its face
  • resurrection was kind of dumb
  • prometheus was very dumb
  • covenant was crap

Alien is the best in the series and Covenant is objectively bad

Alien > Aliens > Alien 3 (Director's Cut) > Prometheus > Resurrection > Covenant

Alien and Aliens are my favorites and obviously all time classics. They are why the franchise is still around.

The rest of the movies, including the AVP movies, are somewhere from bad to decent. Each has aspects that I enjoy, but they have their flaws.

alien is one of my favorites. aliens is good too.

Prometheus i liked, when i left the theater i had a ton of questions about how open ended it was. lot of what the fuck was that questions; i dug it.
then covenant shits all over that for the most part.

so ya, there is only two...

Alien and Aliens are masterpieces.

3 was watchable but it pissed a lot of people off.

4 is a hilarious comedy in a so bad it's good way (well it's also scary and gross but more funny).

AVP 1 was mediocre, AVP 2 was pure trash however the pregnancy scene was hilarious.

Prometheus and Covenant are beautiful train wrecks that shit all over the lore. At least they where entertaining.

yeah alien covenant was good, but i know it did bad box office, i liked alien 3 also.

First two are good. Third was trash. Fourth was trash but a fun to watch trash. Prometheus was fine if a bit convoluted with all the lore they think people care about. The most recent one was average.
