I remember when Phoenix Wright faltered against Ike with his really small lead the last character contest, and he hung in there and somehow won. Maybe Persona can make it through this?

Chalk me up as someone who would theoretically not vote for P4G in a match where I would for for P4, as I think basically all the added content and changes in P4G are bad other than the fusion update.

Three Houses more so

Awakening is a 3DS exclusive losing a close match to one of the more Popular soulsborne Ps4 games. Thats not that bad

3H is a Switch game. Was really popular last year and is one of the most popular FE games to date with huge fanbase

ITs definitely underperforming.

Ability to go out at night is bad? More time for Social option? Widescreen support just enhances the game in so many ways. New music new abilities/weapons and story cutscenes incuding the Ice trip

Are you fucking crazy? The only lef Vanilla P4 has to stand on is Chie's Original VA...and evne then its bleh.

Golden is the definitive version in every way bar Chies voice which has mixed views.

Also we need to keep things into perspective.

P4G is a Vita only game

HAd this game gottena switch port. It would be Persona 5 level.

A Vita exclusive game is effectively pulling these numbers.

What exactly were people expecting Three Houses to get? A quick look at the Oracle topics suggests people were expecting in the 61-63% range. Three Houses is pretty much doing as expected. Three Houses will lose next round because Xenoblade is strong not because Three Houses was unexpectedly weak.

The stuff I actually care about all got worse. New scenes are all lame and turn the cast into caricatures. Marie is hilariously awful and is straight up considered a Poochie. VA changes, though that's a more personal thing. New battle music is an enormous downgrade.

Other good thing is the new social link though. I'll give it credit for that.

55-45 is not very close for something that almost went even with Donkey Kong Country 2 in the SNES-boost contest and that is what the score would have been at best for Awakening pre-rally

Reach Out To The Truth is so much stronger thematically, though. Few games can answer "how do I solve this endgame dialogue puzzle" with "did you listen to the battle theme for the past 50 hours? Like, at all?" Plus the Arena mix is VERY sexy.

Now that things settled down a bit.....

I thought Cuphead would pull this off, but I'm glad I didn't think so when I made my bracket. Not bad GTA.

I suspect GTAV > RDR, but otherwise I'm not convinced what happens in P4G/RDR or in their next round against GTA anymore.

Xenoblade looks terrific here but I'm still keeping a little caution toward 2016's games. DOOM looked solid against REmake 2, but also FFXV didn't beat Hollow Knight by much and Uncharted 4 got dropkicked by Mario Kart 8. We'll learn more when Stardew Valley faces SMG2 -- I don't think this is answered yet on if 2016 has some legitimate strength or not really -- but regardless Overwatch is getting that ass beat and Xenoblade is looking against FE:3H.

Do you think P4G discussion is new or something?

Not only are the new scenes and Marie being bad a common opinion, they are the majority.

There are just plenty of people who think that version of the game is better despite that, which I totally understand.

The only version I played is golden so I had no idea Marie was even new and she didnt bother me.

Kind of my biggest issue with it. Truth is a P4 staple. Time to Make History could be from anything. Doesn't have any emotional connection at all.

P4 > P5 is super easy, doubt Royal changes that once I get around to it.

I'm just saying I feel the same way and I don't think Golden bogs it down as much as you might think!

I beat Golden in like 75-80 hours. P5 was easily over 100.

Of course, Golden wasn't my first run through the game, so that might have helped, but even a NG+ run in P5 didn't feel like it made the game any shorter!

Gonna give some props to GTAV

For all the Cupset fear it's put Cuphead in its place, not almost choking like FFXV did.

Still the most fraudulent 1 seed in bracket tho

p5 is significantly longer.

and lets compare royal to golden

royal for first timers is like 25 hours longer than vanilla.

im 60 hours into Royal and im barely half way. I best golden first time in 65 hours.

im in a unique situation where i didnt play the vanilla games past like the first half a dozen hours.

4/4 yesterday, I'm one of the 79s just off the leaderboard and need RDR to come through today. Have it over GTA too.

Weird match so far. Its pretty even and RDR seems to be winning more updates, but P4G has had a couple random big updates and keeps growing the lead.

Yeah, RDR will stall and slowly cut, and then P4G will bust out a 25-30 vote gain out of nowhere.

Like right there.

Yeah any time RDR makes some headway, P4G gets it all back in one update.

Since the last time I checked, the United States had flipped towards P4G. P4G also seems to be doing better in Europe (minus the UK which is barely going RDR) so we may have to wait until morning to see if RDR can comeback.
