Daniel Bryan did an interview with Renee Young and CM Punk where he admitted that he basically joined WWE because injuries were piling up on the Indies and he wanted to either use whatever years he had left to make as much money as possible. If he hadn't made it, he was planning on going back to school and getting a regular job.

I don't know if he's made statements like that before but it's pretty funny to hear a guy passionate about wrestling state "yeah I'm only in the WWE for the money."

Was thinking about the past two Wrestlemanias today. Wrestlemania 35 was the first one in 19 years without Undertaker, ending a streak of 18 consecutive WMs with a match.

This year, the next longest active streak was snapped also, as Triple H didn't wrestle at Mania for the first time since 23, ending a streak of 12 straight WMs.

The current leading active streak now is Brock Lesnar, who's appeared in the last eight Wrestlemanias.

They basically turned his release into a storyline where he was done once he lost in the Cruiserweight tournament and then they ended up resigning him when he lost because he got over through it.

They basically used his real life story of "I was released but they're letting me finish the tournament since I was booked for it" which was disgusting at first since they were legit basically going "As soon as this guy loses his life is fucking over," but it's kinda less so now since they actually ended up resigning him.

I mean it's still gross but not even like top twenty gross things they've done.

He lost the Cruiserweight title match on tonight's NXT but was offered a contract anyway, and it's speculated that this was only done after that IMPACT advert teasing several released talent (notably Spud, Young, Gallows, Anderson and EC3) was released the day before. Reportedly they offered similar contracts to the others but it's speculated that they'd be on less money than before.

In other words, (I think) Drake got fired, agreed to work the tournament anyway, then was offered a much worse contract than he had before so he wouldn't go to one of their competitors who would capitalise on the momentum he gained in the tournament.

Maverick was speculated to have already been resigned for some time since this storyline started since they were pushing the storyline so hard, though yeah the others have reportedly been offered contracts almost assuredly in response to the Impact thing.

I believe Maverick commented on how he was willing to do the angles that other people wouldn't (205 Live GM, 24/7 Championship, etc.). I don't think it was a general "I got my job back because I grabbed the brass ring when I was fired and others just complained."

I was looking for it but I stumbled on a video of Nia Jax and Kairi Sane. I know we said we don't know if it was Nia's fault, and it was reported it wasn't Nia's fault. But it was Nia's fault 100% and I'm trying not to go full MWC over it, but I don't know a way you can justify this without saying that Nia Jax is a total asshole who doesn't care about the safety of anyone else and she needs to be fired. Like, indefensible. Absolutely indefensible. She just ragdolled her and threw her directly into the steps and didn't allow Kairi to have any control before she just threw her towards the ring steps. I don't know how you do that if you aren't just an asshole who doesn't care about the safety of the other person.

I have no idea whether or not Nia's issues are a refusal to make adjustments to the way she wrestles, or that an undertrained larger person who has trouble controlling their own strength in what is basically violent ballet. You have no idea if her decision not to tweet at "haters" was somehow the result of a talking-to by other wrestlers backstage or she simply didn't feel like it.

She literally hasn't tweeted a damn thing since before RAW this week, which was about her birthday. Here's a crazy idea: maybe she didn't want to deal with Twitter so soon after her birthday? Considering some of the people wishing her a happy birthday were also some of the people she injured, I very much doubt they think she's an asshole intentionally injuring people.

Even when I'm more conscious and careful about a mistake I made earlier in my career, I can still occasionally make them for various reasons. Obviously it's different when it involves physicality but I have no earthly idea what Nia is doing to mitigate these and neither do you. It's one thing to call Nia Jax an unsafe worker. There's a million reasons that can affect Nia's ability to be safe beyond "she's just an asshole." Her size alone affects movement, coordination, and even previous injury that can make things that should be simple more complicated. This on top of the fact that she spent so little time in developmental where coaches can work with her day after day after day to develop a safer style, which she probably get very little of on the main roster, then you have a bad worker.

These are assumptions again. I have no idea how much effort Nia puts into trying to be safer. If you wanna criticize WWE for continuing to run her out there when she is horribly unprepared for her role, I'm right there with you. But I have honestly no way of proving that Nia is intentionally not working on trying to be safer. Everyone thought Seth Rollins was an unsafe worker after a series of injuries. Goldberg nearly killed Taker and he's been doing it for decades.

Not even close. Barrett's injury happened in June 2014. Swagger's WM program was 2013, where Barrett was losing clean to Miz.
