so about dealing with invaders, play as dirty as you possibly can against us. ambushes and ganks and resummons and chugging. do it all.

i think part of it lets players get a preview of what kind of things they can find. you get to see all the cool endgame stuff in flashes. i remember seeing the dlc stuff in the 2 arena before it dropped because lol hackers. by the time i fought fume knight i knew all his moves :x

the only reason i think something like this flies is that the penalty for death actually isn't that severe in this game.

Legitly, they can't take your shit from your inventory, but if you drop stuff and they pick it up, then it's theirs now. Unless you can convince them give it back, you're pretty much screwed out of that item.

so if you're hollow, or go back to an area where you've already beaten the boss, you don't need to worry about being invaded

This. I never went human unless I was farming items (since humanity modifies drop chances). The PVP is pretty ass in all these games imo, and will mostly serve to waste your time. It can be amusing on repeat playthroughs though.

Can you have humanity in your counter and be hollow? It's been a while, but I thought the first one goes to being human and the next go to the counter, and you lose all of it when you die.

You're right, You only really need 10 Soft-humanities and the Gold serpent ring to get your Item Discovery stat to to 410 (luck max hard cap)

if you care about certain NPCs quest lines you have to summon them, but you can go offline to avoid getting ganked by people

Yeah, item discovery scales with soft humanity up to 10. You don't need to be human for it.

You're half right.

Yes, you require at least one soft humanity to go into human form and any other humanities that accumulate will head over to the counter.

You only lose those humanities if you die BEFORE reclaiming your lost souls on your previous death.

being in human form can also help

you can summon others to help you out - they can show you where you can find armor, weapons, and/or items you might miss otherwise, show you shortcuts, and help you fight enemies and bosses

so there's a trade-off

Honestly, being invaded isn't that big of a deal. I'm garbage at PVP and I still make an effort to stay human as much as possible.

Weren't you a pvp hotshot at the Dark Souls 2 pvp ladder, though? Granted, the skill level required to be good at 2 dropped significantly so, theres that.

I hated that game so I never bothered to participate

Without hijacking this topic my intention is to beat all souls games during these crazy times cause I really enjoyed bloodborne. Like one of the best games / experiences of all time for me. Wanted to see what was going on in this topic without reading spoilers

Wouldn't hurt to practice how to parry.

Losing all your souls can be a liberating feeling. With nothing on the line, feel free to run around and explore.

There are three levels of rolling. Fat roll (where you kind of flop on your back), mid roll, and light roll (where you kind of do a diving roll). This is based on how much your equipment weighs.

If you haven't found a weapon you love yet, level up HP and VIT. Can't go wrong with getting more of that. Kind of sucks to put a bunch of points of strength, then find a moveset you love on a dex weapon.

I saw the character descriptions talking about speed and armor differences, but is there anything to that?

I feel like I might enjoy a faster class more, idk...

every class can end up doing the same thing if you build toward it

this is phenomenal advice; and warrior has 13/13 str/dex. you get a really good selection of weapons to try, and some are absolute sleepers (war pick, battle axe).

there are some decent light Armour sets that you can use and still be at fast roll level, or you can get the rings that increase your equip burden so you can play around with heavy armor to minmax your speed/defense

These things fucking grant you like 7 poise at only 1.5 units of weight. Which frees you up to carry other weapons around 6 weight points without putting you in midroll range. Midroll is pretty much recommended if you're rocking 77 poise.

Invasions are stupid and just basically stall you for 10 minutes until you die. Theres some cool NPC invasions that I think you miss out on if youre hollow. IMO you should play offline and try to stay human.

I havent parried a single time in all 3 Dark Souls games. Dont bother if you dont feel like it. Backstabs are op against humanoid enemies. To backstab, you have to be standing still and then press regular attack.

definitely get the DLC if you like the game. Its sweet.

if beat the black knight, and you're lucky, they can drop their weapon, and it's strong enough to carry you throughout the game

and iirc, it doesn't scale that much with any stats, so all you need to be is strong enough to use it.
