I used to go to the park (a big one that has maybe 10 parking lots) and there would be like 5-10 total cars. Now theres definitely over 100 cars here on the weekends without even a special event going on.

Uh...something seems wrong there if we're trying to stop the spread.

Its an 80 acre park and the playgrounds are off-limits. Though the benches in more ideal locations probably spread it.

Ahh that makes a lot more sense then.

That's pretty much the opposite of what is being suggested, and the opposite of what's happening in most places where the outbreak is actually pretty bad and people are actually staying the fuck inside like they're supposed to.

This makes sense.

But I've also seen more people walk by my house since the quarantine started than before...

That's less COVID and more people actually having the free time to do such things. Once people have to go back to work, they'll stop acting like they're on vacation (which they really shouldn't be because pandemic, but that's just how this seems to be going).

Again, depends on where you live and how bad things are there.

I live in one of the worst two states in the US, and most of my local parks have been literally closed, people have been told to stay the fuck away, and I almost never see anyone outside unless it's one lone person out walking their dog or jogging. I also cannot legally shop for food without wearing a mask.

And the one place I know of where people actually were sort of gathering together outside locally, they sent the police over to break it up and tell them to all go home.

A lot of people are just going for aimless walks for the sake of getting out of the house. Visiting parks and other places that attract lots of fresh air-seekers isn't a good idea due to how many people they attract, but walking around your neighbourhood a bit is generally okay in the areas that aren't in such dire straits as to warrant complete lockdowns.

Fair. It's just weird seeing groups of people together out I guess.

I looked it up and my area really hasn't been hit, but then again people in the his town probably aren't being tested.

Hell sis couldn't even go in to the doctor at the start of this, she had to do a video diagnosis. I know for a fact there are still people who don't have internet around here.

But honestly it's probably not a huge deal, just weird to see.

Yeah any time I go down a residential street I see several people outside doing whatever. Haven't seen anyone at parks thankfully, it should stay that way.

I meant worst in terms of infection/number of cases, not worst in general.

NYC is pretty much the epicenter for it in the US right now, and large swaths of northern and eastern NJ basically caught the viral overflow from NYC (mainly because commuting to NYC to work is HUGE in those parts of the state).

Right now, the only state with more confirmed cases than NJ is NY, and about half of NY's numbers are NYC itself, while the rest are mostly just outside of NYC (like Westchester and Long Island).
