I have 300 regular bullets, 200 armour piercing and 200 hollow point bullets for my hunting rifle

I hope that's enough

It's got a decent story and atmosphere at least by New Vegas' low standards but some pretty lousy gameplay

It's probably the best of the 4 DLCS.

Lonesome road is the weakest

Dead Money is fantastic and a great pleb filter. The stories there are some of the best though and worth it.

DM > LR > OWB > HH imo

Dead Money was a trip my first time around, constantly running out of resources, barely skated by a couple points of the chapter. Have fun tc!

I'd go:

Gameplay:

OWB > HH > DM > LR

Story:

HH > DM > OWB > LR

Atmosphere:

DM > HH > OWB > LR

Dead Money ended up edging out Shivering Isles as my all-time favorite DLC content. The first playthrough can be rough, and the speakers even had me in controller-chucking rage towards the end, but it ages like wine on repeat playthroughs.

Eh, not being able to make use of the Holorifle might be an immediate letdown, but you'll get by if you play it smart. A good Melee / Unarmed skill will get you through without too much trouble; I wouldn't rely too heavily on Guns since ammo will be scarce (plus you'll need to keep some ammo to deal with...certain far-off obstacles).

Oh and this is a minor spoiler but I'm going to say it because it's fucking dumb and I'd wish someone had told me when I first played it

When you first meet Dean Domino, let him think he forced you into working with him. If you pass any kind of skill or persuade check during your dialogue then you've fucked yourself.

I'm in the minority, but I fucking love Dead Money, easily the best DLC in my opinion. The atmosphere and story there are just so fucking cool.
It is a bit more difficult than the rest of the game though.

Lol, hope you're sneaky or a crack shot, then ;-) I always end up keeping God around, but that might not be the best approach. I would just follow your gut on that one; if your speech skill is high enough, you shouldn't get locked into anything irreversible with that character.

Big Important non-spoiler hint though: soon you'll meet your third partner in crime (won't spoil who it is, he's a Ghoul). When first talking to him, do NOT take the Barter check dialogue option that comes up. For reasons that continue to elude me, this permanently sets him on a story path that you probably won't like.

If you haven't gathered already, Dead Money plays significantly differently from the rest of the game. Avoid fights where you can, and if you have to fight ghost people, carry one of the knife spears and use it to finish them off when they're down. Do the storyline first, then explore after when you don't have the bomb collar bullshit on your neck anymore.

Dead Money is great...but only after you've beaten it once and know what to do. The bomb collar shenanigans will drive you up a wall and ruin a lot of the fun that could've been had. Personally, my fave is Honest Hearts -- great setting and characters. I just wish there were more enemies running around after you beat it.

Honest Hearts has the 'Temple of Doom' syndrome where it's arguably the weakest of the bunch, but still a great time to be had. I always have a blast palling around with my tribal buddies and stalking my way across Zion. And the Survivalist's story is the some the best text-log storytelling around (doesn't hurt that the capstone of this unmarked quest is literally God's gun, and one of the best weapons in the game.)

I recruited all three companions

Getting to Christine was annoying, but I am a sucker for a pretty face

I'm really bad with horror, so that's probably as much as I can handle for today

None of the NV DLCs wowed me, but I liked Dead Money. I put it second after Honest Hearts and I mostly like that one for just the sweet guns you get from it.

HH was the best to me. The story was alright and Joshua Graham was interesting. Plus you get the Survivalist's rifle and the 1911 and tommy gun.

DM had a great atmosphere and the story was interesting. It still could be annoying at times. I like the .38 pistol and the BAR you get from it.

I didn't care for Old World Blues. The enemies were bullet sponges and the humor was too "lol so wacky and random" and try hard to me.

I barely remember Lonesome Road. I never cared for the Ulysses/courier story and it feels very convoluted and seems like something from a lesser game than New Vegas.

This is true. It's a lot better the second time around.

If that were true that would make it the best one that gets unfairly crapped on for the most part. Sorry, had to vent there. I love TOD>

I mean, you're not wrong when it comes to the NV DLC. Dead Money is the tops. Old World Blues makes a fantastic first impression, but honestly ages like milk on repeat playthroughs. Lonesome Road had no chance of living up to the hype; I've become a lot more forgiving of it as time has gone on, but it still lacks that magical spark the other three have (or at one point had).

So when it comes down to 'DLC I most look forward to playing when I boot up a fresh NV playthrough,' turns out Honest Hearts is second only to Dead Money for me personally.
