I know pokemon is popular but, seriously, would it have beat Mario Galaxy 2 that hard? Of course not. Rayman Legend wos robbed, as they say. Subjectively, it is as good a oure platformer as you can get.
I know this contest is more about series or 'character' loyalty than game quality, but this result really emphasized it. If it lost cause no one has played it, then for shame, you're robbing yourself of the best platformer since... well SMB3 --- "Evolution is a 'theory', just like gravity. Yoshi's Island was a platformer released after SMB3 that was better than it, so this is totally wrong.

Well be that as it may, I stand by my opinion. Getting good at Rayman is more fun due to lightning fast turn around time after death. That prob why I like it more than SMG2 (just); no lives, no drawn out death animations/jingles etc

Yoshi's Island was one of the dullest platformers from the NES/SNES era. It has a nice art style...but most of the level design is so mediocre, especially when compared to games that pre-dated it.

Rayman got farther than I thought it would. The upside to this is that maybe someone will take a chance on the series, because it is quite good.
