I obsess over making it perfect and end up having no fun. 2. I screw up anyway and end up making the game impossibly hard. Though Im not really a fan of some wrpgs use of pseudo DND battle systems. First of all, I'm not exactly sure when the names got changed but the original names for these styles of games were "PC-Style RPG" and "Console-Style RPG" with WRPGs being the "PC" and JRPGs being the "Console" The names were eventually changed because Japanese devs kept making more and more "console style" RPGs. Secondly, genres and styles are in fact malleable and subjective. A game doesn't have to be just one thing and never did. Is Borderlands a first person shooter or an RPG? You're more encouraged to run around and spend 90% of your time wandering, and only 10% or so on the main story. JRPGs tend to have better combat and more character customization with regards to skills, abilities, and things like that. Demons Souls is just From Software putting the Shadow Tower series in third person view. Which was already derived from King's Field. It has nothing in common with old Western PC games. Everyone ones overall story in any JRPG is the same, even their may be some small changes here and there.
