Yeah people are attributing way too much power to debug. Usually you can just adjust specific values, spawn items, and load levels. It's not omnipotence.

Depends on the game.as stated earlier id be fine with just shadowruns debug. Semi unkillable shit ton of cash and ton exp.

Edit: also if it worked like the debug in shadowrun. Where I magically teleport to a room. id have a place to sleep as there was a bed. Wonder if any of the women in that room ever get lonely if ya know what I mean.

And since they say "I just want to tweak reality on a whim" that implies the poll is about some of the more extensive debug modes that can be found. Where you can adjust stats of items, NPCs, your character, warp to different stages, spawn any item in the game, rest wanted levels, make yourself unkillable, etc. All the good stuff.

No. You have to work. In the end, it may only take a day to get money. But its a long day. As in, its really a lot of days for the scummer. Not to mention of things dont happen exactly the same due to something changing. Which can also take a long time. No matter what, its more work than the person with unlimited money would have to do. As the person with unlimited money would literally have to do nothing to get it. Nor would they have to set things up in advance like stocks. The only way stocks work is by seeing further into the future and then resetting everything. Which might not be the best if youve found the life you want to live...

And thats the problem. Not everybody wants to love the same week over. You can make friends that you can keep. Or see new movies. Or play new games. That sound like torture more than a gift. I would rather die than love the same week over and over...

The difference between the save scummer and unlimited money is that the unlimited money person doesnt have to work at all. Not at the beginning, middle, or end. The save scummer has to at some point. Whether its to make sure they have money, or not not run out.

Yeah. Thats one of the main problems. One little thing you do differently (because you know or forgot how you did it the first time) could have major changes on you life. And depending on how far back you go, you could easily forget all the little things that changed your life for the better...

I didnt forget. I literally said multiple times something along the lines of, If you dont care about the others power and only wanted money, then choose the money. Or if you wouldnt use the power for anything other than money, choose the money. I think I even said, If you want more than the money, than save state would work. I never forgot. The question asked was Why pick infinite money over save scumming or debug mode? And I gave the answer. The easiest answer is because they may only want money. Maybe they dont want to have to save scum they way through life. Or just dont want to have to work to get money. Like I save, so would choose save scumming (or debug mode depending on its limitations), but I wouldnt use it to waste time getting money. I would probably do passive things like winning the lottery. But I would waste time with stocks, or going around the casinos (except for on TDY). And even then, not much...

As for time being more valuable, than depends one the person. Some people dont want more time. Or care about it.

You also previously said winning the casino would be suspicious but having infinite money won't be suspicious? you can't really even use that without the government, IRS and criminals making you their primary target, if you're lucky and the government gets to you before the mob they'll ban or at best limit your ability greatly because you'll inflate the currency hence mess up the economy, even then though i can see a lot of backstabbing occurring from people who would want to use you for money even within the government.

At best scenerio and if you're extremely lucky you might get away with spending 400K without anyone raisng an eyebrow, that's the limit and you can easily get that with save scumming plus all the other benefits

As for unlimited money being suspicious,
it depends on how you have it. Like is it a wallet that never runs out of cash? Nobody would ever know if you didnt tell anyone. Or a credit card with no limit thats gets paid every month? Which is also not suspicious as people just think youre rich. Or an account that keeps getting money put in it? Might be suspicious unless they again just think youre really rich and own something somewhere... And that should be a question you ask about before just taking the power...

As for the end, Ill say it again. If they dont want the rest of the power that comes with save scumming, then money is faster, easier, and has better results (more money because its unlimited)...

The real talking point is this settles the debate that save scumming is cheating.

Oh, it's always been cheating. There's never been any question about that. Rather, what's up for debate is whether or not the mechanic it circumvents deserves to be cheated.
