I've never played a Dark Souls game, or Bloodborne. I've heard Sekiro is more punishing than both.

I only got to about mid-game before my disc was damaged (I bought it again recently, though, but this time digitally), but yea, it can be really difficult.

but once you start to get a hang of things, the gameplay starts to feel more rewarding. there are also prosthetic tools, their upgrades, and consumables that help you with combat.

If you're an above average gamer you should be able to beat the game if you put in the effort your skill requires.

Why did you stop playing? I'm very drawn into the aesthetic, and rewarding gameplay.

It's a really good game. I was worried about the challenge before getting it as well, but the challenge ended up being very refreshing and rewarding. The difficulty isn't so much that you have to be crazy skilled to beat the game. It's you have to learn to pay attention to the bosses in the game, and really learn the bosses movesets.

I'm playing it through for the second time right now, and it's definitely tough! But if you're patient and willing to learn it's a Suuuuuper rewarding experience.

Give it a go if you find it on sale sometime! If it's on steam you can always replace it within 2 hours.

Nothing in the game is difficult to execute. You just have to be able to remember and recognize patterns, and learn how to react. The gameplay isn't particularly deep, so the latter isn't complicated.

Thats a bummer. Sorry to hear that. I'll never forget my X360 getting the RROD on like my second day of owning it after launch. Soul crushing.

Your comment gets me juiced! I love learning how to straight up Merc a bad guy. Technique feels so much more rewarding then just getting an upgraded sword that hits for more damage points or something. I get so frustrated when I get my ass kicked though.

I'm not typically a souls-like player (though I did beat Bloodborne), and I loved Sekiro enough to platinum it. It's more focused on being aggressive in combat and honestly you can just spam perrying, though you do have to have enough of a sense of timing to recognize how to do that also.

I'd say go for it, but just know it probably won't be something you're good at right away.

Damn, that's impressive. I've never Platinum'd a game yet. Maaaaybe Spiderman PS4 one daaay. I'm a fan of timed dodging and parrying. That's how I made it through the Witcher 3.

I've played every From Software game Demon's Souls and onward and can honestly say that the final boss in Sekiro is harder than anything else in those other games

Yeah Spider-Man is a good easy Plat. As far as Sekiro goes the focus would be on parrying specifically since dodges aren't as useful. There's a certain point in the game where it becomes key to figure it out as that's most effective way to kill bosses.

I suck at video games but sekiro becomes insultingly easy once you learn parrying. I was trash until juzou (early mini boss) killed me around 80 times. Then I no-hit him and breezed thru the rest of the game. Once it clicks you're good

Damn this is the kind of testimony that gives me faith right here! 80 times sheesh. I think I died that many times in RE Biohazard fighting the dad in the garage for the second time. damn.

I just noticed Sekiro is on sale until the 29th. How long was the campaign? I might pull the trigger right meow on this bad boy.

It's pretty decent length, I can't remember hour-wise what my first playthrough was. Add on a good amount of time for dying and getting stuck on parts and whatnot lol. Also there's new game plus and multiple endings/plus a couple of bosses that you can't do all on one playthrough if that's your sort of thing.

I love it. I was disappointed by the short length of Outer Worlds. Fun game, but felt like a very rushed campaign and hardly a open world experience.

Steep learning curve but youll breeze through on NG+ apart from some boss fights.

Honestly not having played those might work in your favor. No muscle memory to un-learn.

The souls games are easy because you can always go online and get help. Sekiro you are on your own.
