Were you punished by your boss when they found you looking at porn at work?

I had to really think about this a wrestled with it, because of the vagueness of the statement.

But the my answer is "all things being equal" the answer is no.

While I don't agree with punishing someone for watching porn, I don't believe that alone makes someone a bad parent. If they are amazing parents in every other way and just handle the issue of porn poorly I would say they are good parents.

The only way I would say they are bad parents is if the punishment was TOO harsh. And any parent who has punishments that are too harsh are default bad parents so the porn isn't what makes them bad parents.

I once managed 2 businesses for an entrepreneur. They were both out of the same office. He ran out of space and converted part of the kitchen area to have more cubicles.

Long story short, right as I walk into the room... one of the guys(late 40s, lonely, etc) was watching porn on the work computer. I stealthily walk up besides him and place my face next to his. He doesnt notice because hes so into the porn, but the guy next to him does and is already dying of laughter. Few seconds later I shout, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? And he jumps in his chair.

But Im the understanding, effective, numbers driven type of boss. So I just said, There are women in here. Dont do that in the office.

You know a lot of folk feel embarrassed about nudity and their own body. This problem stems from childhood where some folk are taught nudity is bad. While I certainly wouldn't want children looking at porn I wouldn't punish them for being curious. I however don't think it's being a bad parent trying to project your children from doing things they shouldn't be doing such as posting nudes online because porn stars do it or having sex at a young age and many other things that could stem from watching porn. They are children and shouldn't really concern themselves with teen/adult things.
