I'm a huge music fan. I just don't see the point in paying all that cash. The quality is probably better, sure, but it's not a justifiable enough reason to me.

I used to be a stagehand. I've heard well-mixed audio on a well tuned system, and going to tinny 3/4 inch drivers just doesn't do it for me.

I have a similar background. there's no discernible difference unless you bought some cheap shit.

Maybe your ears were damaged, or the systems you were on weren't tuned well. 3/4 inch drivers physically cannot give anywhere near the fidelity that a larger driver, even ones in a full over-ear headphone can give.

I dont use a pair of earbuds but my pair I use for nearly everything are Grado SR80e cans. I'm going to assume(and I may be wrong), no wireless earbuds in the $100 price range would sound better, then you deal with potential quality loss from being wireless that wouldn't happen with wired, meaning for me, since I don't care about having to deal with a cord, there is no benefit to me switching over, plus there are no batteries to replace or recharge. No possible connection issues. They just work...kinda like in my car I can use my mp3 player with bluetooth or the aux cord. Plugging in a cord is much quicker and easier than dealing with bluetooth.

The point is your baseline quality on earbuds is too low to notice the quality difference. With decent drivers you'll notice more of the fluctuations due to Bluetooth interference and packet loss over air, even over short distances

I..don't understand how having wired earphones in the rain would be a problem? Do you not carry an umbrella or hooded jacket with you when its gonna rain that day? Unless you're completely submerging yourself in water, rain is incapable of hurting wired earbuds.

Then again I'm also not a dumbass pedestrian who wears headphones or earbuds while walking around so I can look edgy and avoid human interaction.
