Everyone can have an opinion on something. I am no more correct or wrong for liking/dislking something if someone has the opposite opinion. That said, I would not lash out at them but I would be bothered if the person start spouting that anyone with opposing opinions of theirs is an idiotic, has poor taste, etc.
Take for example the doneness of steak. I prefer my steaks cooked rare and I do not doubt some folks out there will think me to have poor taste for wanting to eat something that raw. I think I feel bothered because there is no real defense against such statement. I do not feel I can objectively defend why I like rare steak as an example. I would brush it off just as quickly as getting stung by it but I would still feel the prick from it. --- "You must gather your party before venturing forth" "Go for the eyes Boo!
