by that point (assuming this model of the future of the universe is correct) nothing will still be around to see it I guess. but if it could, it would be so terrifying. there would no light left in the universe. everything would just be pitch black. imagine looking up at the sky and seeing nothing. sheer existential horror right there

It sure would be. Fortunately that's not likely something any lifeform will knowingly experience, since a lack of active stars would literally result in a universal temperature of absolute zero.
