How pleased are you with the way your governor has handled the pandemic?

Are you satisfied with the handling of the pandemic by elected officials

My state's plan doesn't even make sense.

Phase 4 is completely re opening malls fully, but then they say in stage 5 they still plan to have social distancing.

How?

On top of that the phases feel rushed, there's nearly no time in between them.

Newsom has been doing well from what I can see. but he's says he's gonna start the reopening this Friday. not sure about that, since the state just had 2000 new cases the other day.

And also apparently we're opening up in one week

So great, no point in shutting down in the first place, and I don't even blame my (Republican) governor, because the federal government doesn't give a shit about us and denied all state funding ($4.5T for CEOs though, who would have gone through a managed bankruptcy laying off no one if they failed). We either completely collapse as a society or re-open and kill millions of people.

It's so beyond disgusting, and it shows when we're the most infected country in the world. Near the most corrupt too.

No, normal human people benefit from treating it seriousy (by surviving), businesses benefit from calling it a hoax (by making more money staying open).

Let me clear up my sarcasm. I am a reasonable person, not a nutter.

okay, my bad.

for the people who are freaking out about the economy, what do you think a mortality rate of like 7%-12% would do to the economy? it would be much worse than what is happening now.

Look I'm gonna be real with everyone.

I don't blame the average person for being scared about what's going to happen if the quarantine goes on a long time. Calling it a hoax is a different matter, to be clear.

A lot of people are used to struggling with little to no help. A lot of people have basically been programmed to believe that there is no other option but to work people even to their detriment. And quite honestly, if no one is working at all, yeah we're kinda screwed.

But it shouldn't be up to the average person to be making these wide sweeping decisions either. And it's not. So not only can I not blame an average person for being fearful, I can't blame them for the absolute hell corporate greed is about to unleash.

Numbers are in for today and Dakota County, Nebraska now has over 5% of the population infected. 1,017 cases in a county of 20,083 people. One out of every 20 people. And still no lockdown orders.

Hamilton County has had 9 deaths out of 52 cases, a morality rate of 17.3%. The total county population is just 9,280, so the per capita death rate is about 1 person per 1000. And still no lockdown orders.

And the numbers are probably far, far worse, since there's only been 70,000 tests in a state with 1.9 million people.

Except that the highest mortality rates are among seniors most of whom are already retired.

Based on the FACT that any study of the general public showing between 50 and 100 times the reported cases, which are only the hospitalizations. The virus was around for at least 3 months before anyone cared.

Giving that fact, the death rate is less than 0.1%. Even with that, the numbers are overblown, because they are counting anyone with the virus as a casualty, even if that is not what actually killed them. But even if that weren't true, the actual death rate is no larger than the common cold.

In the end, we shut down the whole world, and ruined millions of people financially, for the flu
