storage by now in PCs. They've been around forever at this point but the price seems to be decreasing very slowly for them for whatever reason.

People should be able to have 2TB and up SSDs for storage nowadays but they still cost quite a bit in comparison to hard drives of the same capacity.

Why should they be cheaper if they cost more to manufacture?

I remember when like a 64GB SSD was hundreds of dollars and the only reason you'd probably have it was to make windows boot fast af and maybe one other program

Because the cost to manufacture things comes down the longer something is in production usually.

SSDs have been around for a long time at this point so it seems like the majority of them should be affordable enough to replace high storage hard drives by now.

Aren't the nVME drives better than SSDs? So there's already something better than SSDs around now.

Yes. SATA SSDs should definitely go lower in price considering how slow they are in comparison now.

nVME is a waste unless you do heavy data transfer/editing, etc.

Isnt it the opposite, that its better for non heavy data transfer cause they heat up like hell?

Oh I don't know, that might very well be possible. I just know when I looked into it prior to buying a new SSD I opted against nVME because there were no real benefits for just a casual gamer like me.
