I got wrote up for the first time in my life a couple months ago. Supervisor claimed it was a lack of communication because they wanted me to meet some big shot and I wasn't in the office. I looked at her and said that sounds like a lack of communication on your part since you never told me that was going to be happening. I went above her and got it reversed and now she's giving me the cold shoulder lmao. 40 year old woman acting like a little 12 year old bitch.

Always keep documentation. Always. Because if something goes wrong, there's always a chance someone will try and throw you under the bus, and if you can respond with objective proof that it isn't your fault, that's the best defense to have.

Document that as well so when she eventually writes you up for "performance issues" you have evidence of manager retaliation which is the kind of thing you can sue for and will get her higher ups to stomp out her bad behavior like the carpet caught fire.

I think you're fine if you have your emails to cover yourself. I've been in countless cases where even managers try to pin their bullshit against my team and they never win.

Saw the tickets and had to shut that shit down. We are not any of those things. I even went to HR to make sure users know what is an IT issue and what is not.

A few years ago they tried to get one of my Help Desk guy decorate their office and I also had to shut that shit down.

For me it helps that the CEO had a meeting with me and told me if anyone asks me to do home setup on wifi or the likes, that it is a no for insurance reasons, followed by him saying any issues with anyone and just tell them he is to be contacted

Even when I show all my previous messages they still complain that I should have called them, except when I actually try to call they're busy and ask to call back later. I'm not playing phone tag, look at your damn messages.

I had a great boss when I was a Help Desk Admin. The dude 100% always back me up. When users are being shitty he would go to that user's boss and set them straight. It was awesome.

Realistically they need me a lot more than I need them. Three weeks in they were already asking me about long term plans when I'm only there for six months.

They know they're fucked without me. So I'll be fine
