After working out social distancing stuff, Im basically in a position where I absolutely wont be able to see her for the indefinite future. I didnt think schools were going to even try before the Fall, but I guess its easier to punt the difficulty to the students and their families than attempt to rework the nursing program in response to the pandemic. Seems irresponsible to foist that on a range of backgrounds, considering how many of them live with their families and roommates who might not be protected by health insurance.

Two years weve been together. I dont know how Im going to handle this.

My now-spouse and I lived together as roommates over a year and a half or so, then partners, then had to spend two years apart while I was in grad school. Other than Skype, we saw each other for five to ten days, once a year, for two years and it was really lonely.

But it's not insurmountable. It just sucks.

She's heroic. Thank her for all the weirdos online. We didn't have a pandemic on, so I don't know what to tell you about not being able to socialize or distract yourself with outside hobbies. Good luck, though.
