Bosses were just trying to set up positions. Each of the bosses was like 10-20 seconds on the run I finally beat them on. If you cant win in 20 seconds its better to just die and start over.

Really cool art and music. Entertaining gameplay. Great game to play after playing Shadow of the Colossus.

And my three games for the weekend were finished by Saturday...no more games until next Friday.

I wasn't crazy about vanilla DkS II, but SotFS was rad.

I liked how many of the bosses had alternate secret strats (which you can spoil for yourself by reading the achievement unlocks)

DS2 is alright but nothing special. DS3 is amazing and imo better than DS1.

DS2 is very similar to DS1 but with smoother mechanics, feels less clunky but the level design is worse then one.

DS3 takes the formula and changes it a lot (with influence from Bloodborne), you'll be able to do new stuff like actually sprinting while locked on.

Though as for level design I am not sure as I havent got very far into DS3 yet (was trying to not start on it till I polished off DS2 if I could stop making multiple characters to try different builds).

I can tell you one thing for sure though, DS1 has some of the best map design in all of the series not to mention makes a mark in all of gaming for its stellar ability to connect its worlds over time. It is as if they have always been parallel to each other. Where as other souls games and most other games make it so that one world is after that world, like so: 1-2-3-4-5 and theres no smart interwoven design put into the worlds. I personally think worlds have more value when you have to take shortcuts through older worlds to get to the new ones. It also gives the potential for putting late game content into older worlds, very similar to how metroidvania work.

My opinion in almost the opposite: Dark Souls 1 is the best to play, and DS2 is the best for the multiplayer with DS3 being a nothing special mix.

I see where you're coming from. However, I'm a solely offline PvE player. Never played co-op or PvP in Souls. I think DS3 is the best game for PvE, while DS2 is the worst. I can imagine DS2 being significantly more fun with friends.

I actually liked the Mega Man-ish style of level progression in Demon's Souls. I would like to see that in another game one day.
