Ok, I think I just fucked up. Is Bitterback Island the main game? I just talked to a lady to take me there, and then I got the opening title sequence as if the game was only just beginning. But I still have loads of quests on the OG island.

Bitterblack is basically dlc-like expansion. Difficulty wise its basically post game, but if you want to cheese you can rush it for high end equipment.

Magick Archer is great, but I only played it when I min-maxed my stats. That meant 1-10 mage, 11-96 assassin, 97-199 sorcerer, 200 assassin.

Aye. BBI is intended as post-game content, but you can access it pretty early on. I recommend against going there until you beat the main game for the first time, lest you make everything trivial.

Yes. At least I only made mine short, not like a god damn child. My favourite pawn was a 2h warrior that I made tower over everyone else. No one rented her because she was damn beefy.

There really is no wrong answer here. It really depends on what you want to do. Do you want to be a bulwark of defense, a damage dealer, a skirmisher, or a support? It's _much_ more difficult to get a good pawn as a mage. I like playing as striders.

Youll probably have the most fun if you start off as a Strider. They have a good balance between melee/ranged attacks and are also good at climbing on the larger enemies. After about an hour into the game you should be at the main city and will be able to freely change your classes so you can experiment.
