Boomer humor = stuff on TV and movies from the 80s to the early 00s or so? Peak would be Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Simpsons, Arrested Development, etc. (but The Simpsons has also become a terrible example of boomer humor) Xoomer humor = stuff on TV and movies from the mid 00s to today. Peak would be 30 Rock, The Office, It's Always Sunny, etc. Moomer humor = mostly youtube humor Zoomer humor = some youtube humor, also tiktok humor --- Shenmue II = best game of all time Shenmue = 2nd best game of all time ... literally none of these apply to boomers uh what you realize that Seinfeld is literally about 30-somethings in the 90s (mostly). Also look at the creators. --- Shenmue II = best game of all time Shenmue = 2nd best game of all time ... Copied to Clipboard!

Your boomer examples lean to the later side of boomers for sure. Boomers go as far back as 1945 technically.

Babies born in 1956 would have been in mid teens around these years so you're saying because they didn't neccesarily grow up watching them it's different?

But something like All in The Family (and The Jeffersons and Sanford and Son) was definitely watched by boomers but was created by the Greatest Generation and also The Silent Generation in the case of The Jeffersons. The Golden Girls was also definitely watched by boomers but the creator is from the Silent Generation. --- Shenmue II = best game of all time Shenmue = 2nd best game of all time ... Boomer is more Andy Griffith, MASH, Mary Tyler Moore, Happy Days etc These are all either Greatest Generation humor or Silent Generation humor, look at the creators. Also think about the main demographic for all of these shows: middle-aged people. --- Shenmue II = best game of all time Shenmue = 2nd best game of all time ... Copied to Clipboard!

The Andy Griffith Show started airing in 1960, literally while before the last boomers were born.
A lot of these shows were meant to appeal to all ages, but the main demogrpahic was middle-aged people. --- Shenmue II = best game of all time Shenmue = 2nd best game of all time ... Copied to Clipboard!

The Andy Griffith Show started airing in 1960, literally while before the last boomers were born. There were enough boomers, 'of age' at that point to get the humor. And I can actually say, I was at a folk event, in the '80s and a couple of people started whistling the theme. I'm sure that hit home with the boomers. I know that is anecdotal, but it is true. --- "Whatever the reason you're on Mars, I'm glad you're there, and I wish I was with you." ~Carl Sagan. Currently playing: Flight Simulator X.~PC ... Seinfeld mainly aired in the 90s, and was mainly meant to appeal to people in their 30s and 40s. So in other words, boomers and the oldest Xoomers.
Of course you don't have to be in your 30s or 40s to enjoy Seinfeld, but that doesn't change who the main demographic was. --- Shenmue II = best game of all time Shenmue = 2nd best game of all time ... Copied to Clipboard!

Your generation list is about 1 off for each of them. My dad was born in 1970 and peak humor for him has always been those older shows like sanford and son and mamas family. I was born in the 80s and always enjoyed shows like Martin or In Living Color. A lot of people in my generation did and still bring it up to this day. Shows like Always Sunny or Trailer Park Boys click more with the millennials than Gen Xers.
