Dont you love it when RPGs have blink and you'll miss it sidequests with rigorous steps that if you dont follow will cause the sidequest to end?

I love if for the roguelike type of runs, but not for games that'll be 30 hours on a first playthrough.

Yeah nothing should be missable unless the side quest just has 0 impact or the deadline for missing the quest makes sense

Sunbro questline, :D

It's really silly that he basically hollows if you enter Lost Izalith without having killed the Sunlight Maggot, x.x . There's no indication of any kind that the danger was there, so most people probably lost him on their first playthrough.

Eh? I feared for his life soon as I knew there were brightly glowing, sphere-butt maggots.

Hey you just arrived in a city and story progressed to the castle through cutscenes? You regain control in the big center room and you moved up the stairs to talk to the member of royalty like the cutscenes to continue the story like it indicated you should? LMAO you just missed out on a sidequest for some item/ title that's maybe actually useful and only available through it. You should have actually talked with the guard and then backtracked all the way to the first city and talked with a random woman in her house who then mentions her son is a guard somewhere, and then you have to walk back to the castle, talk to him, and repeat the last two steps one last time to deliver a letter between the two of them.

Guy's flight suit in tales of the abyss was awesome looking but it's 2-3 hours of back and forth between the overworld and underworld just to talk to two characters. :l

Most people don't have the door open or know how to open it. Don't be obtuse.

I was fortunate enough to be aware before I started my first playthrough, but... I doubt most people did.

The door opening is dependent on your level in the Chaos Servant covenant, and IIRC, it doesn't tell you the door actually opens when you hit the necessary covenant level... that isn't even taking into consideration that Dark Souls 1 heavily discouraged jumping from covenant to covenant, so there's a lot of chance involved with whether or not you'd even see the maggots before "that" happens. Furthermore, the Chaos Servant covenant is completely unrelated to Solaire, :/

Dark Souls is my favorite gaming series, but things like that are definitely worthy of having some criticism levied against it. Also, I personally preferred the "poison mist" right in the door exploit for getting the maggot killed, but that strategy also takes some prior knowledge to think of doing it, x.x

Dragon's Dogma could lock you out of the best pre-post game area in the game if you didn't complete a missable quest line that requires completing an extremely easily missed quest early in the game. :(

Vesperia was the inspiration for this topic.

You go to a town and meet a new party member. Her house has stuff you can click on. Ok thats fine. You beat a dungeon and go back to her house. Nothing new with it. Nothing has changed. Ok fine. You leave her house and she officially joins your party.

Did you go back in her house for a third time and click on a piece of rubble that looks the same as the first three times? No? Fuck you that sidequest is gone if you head to the next story area.
