Is the concept of taking vows of commitment to a significant, single other becoming increasingly lost as the generations roll forward? If it is, do you see this as a good evolution of society?

The marriage rate is down but the rate of successful marriages is up, as people are getting married later than previous generations. I'm calling it a net gain. Those who wish to commit do so, and those who don't, don't even bother.

To me this seems more like the notion of not living together until you're married is outdated thinking and it's important in establishing where you stand once you have to be together constantly.
