Short film atm. Just did some quick math and I have approximately 9,000 frames to draw O_0

And that's just the drawing. Going to take years I would imagine. Going for a semi-realistic art style and smooth, fluid animation. Which might be too much to ask of myself considering I've never tried to animate anything, but ya know what? Dream big and work hard.

Don't be afraid to spend a little money on help from others to make it better btw! I bought some sounds for the first time for my newest one and it makes a world of difference. I know a couple places to go for voice actors if you need any too.

What's it going to be about?

I have a soundtrack sort of made, and I appreciate the offers of help, but somehow my brain is telling me I need to do it on my own. But that's me talking now without trying to sit down and animate something. Might get overwhelmed and branch out for help haha. Ah, pride. Such a stupid thing.

And essentially the base concept is a man (or just person) floating through a void, detritus clinging to him so all you see is maybe an eye and his arms and legs. In the beginning it is all black and white, but as he continues forward and encounters various people and things, the debris starts to fall off and color pops into the world very gradually, until he finally emerges on the other side of the void clean and fully visible. With all of his problems (debris) finally gone, he travels into a bright technicolor light and disappears, free from all pain forever.

Ya might wanna delete that.

Mods are afraid of female nipples. They fear what they have been unable to experience.

That sounds like a good concept for a short. Are you going to do it all traditionally?

*Jeez, based on that reference that style looks like it'll be hell to animate.

Thanks! And yeah, going to draw all the final artwork on Bristol board and then upload them into the program. I'll be using the onion skinning and key frames and stuff in Blender so I don't have to redraw quite as much, but still going to be a lot of drawing.

Thank god. Once I met this guy (who was also a college student) who made this highly detailed frame by frame short entirely by using one sheet of paper and charcoal. I cannot even fathom it, but it CAN be done. I'm gonna see if I can track it down.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of detail (part of the reason I didn't pursue a job in comics more; my professor was basically telling me all that detail isn't sustainable for a comic company with deadlines).

Oh, totally can be. But then you're spending like 3-6 hours for a single frame and it just seems like working harder, not smarter. The tech is there, why not use it?
