I dont like him but i understand his job is horrible and he has to be that way.

I have 2. One is a aged entrepeneural type that has always taken my efforts for granted because day to day work that keeps the company going is a waste of time to him. The wasn't so bad when he was younger, but as he aged, he just couldn't keep up the work and is surprised I don't take "redo that work I forgot about and lost" well.

The other is an anal attentive micro manager that has a bad habit of giving me the "you need to check your work" lecture when I make a mistake, doing everything last minute, not communicating expectations but thinking she did, not respecting the time it takes to do things, calling for my help on tasks she has every capability to do herself, and is stuck in her ways such that she shoved back our efforts to go paperless among other outdated procedures.

TL;DR, on a scale of 1 to 10, it's a negative number.

I have 2. One is just ok. Gives pointless and long winded explanations to simple questions. She's always late too. Twice she was 2 hours late... while she was staying in the hotel. I called her and told her I needed to go, still took her 2 hours to show up and she was in the same building as me.

The other is really sassy, but in a fun way. Both are pretty hands off, and just let you do your job, but they'll be there if you need anything. So, aside from the one being late, they're good.

I'm on great terms with my boss. We know our jobs are ultimately to make each other look good. I come to him if there's a problem before he has a chance to come to me, and he doesn't micromanage - we've sat and chatted about PS4 games more often than my performance. He trusts me to do my job and stays out of my way while I do it, and I trust him to go to bat for me if there's a problem I can't solve.

Only one above me is the owner.

He's okay. He's a good guy but he often tries to micromanage departments that he doesn't know much about. Or he will try and "help" in the middle of something going wrong. I can often just fix the problem in a shorter amount of time than it would take to get you up to speed. His heart is usually in the right place though.
