This feels like more planned out than HxH so far but who knows. I dont find HxH boring maybe except for greed island, zoldyc and battle tower arc. Chimera ant, hunter exam, yorknew, are all excellent.

Is it really that good? I often avoid anime that suddenly get super popular because they're not guaranteed to hold up in the long term. For example I was on the MHA train for a while but got sick of it

I'm on chapter 318 out of 478, been reading probably literal days. It's good. Certainly a lot more consistent than HxH. It's like 90% HxH Hunter Exam arc.

Btw, none of the HxH anime arcs are bad or boring. It's what comes after the anime that tanks the series.

Theres not very much that comes after the anime and it's not inconsistent quality as much as just a horrifically slow release schedule. You can dislike the content or speed but it's pretty severe to say it tanks the series, especially when the anime found such a natural stopping point.

From the art, to the dialogue, to the plot - almost everything jumps off the rails after the chimera arc. Some people complain about an episode's worth of explanation for the mechanics of a single characters abilities (I don't mind), but that's nothing compared to the books of text crammed into a a single chapter page. It's not all terrible, but there are some seriously awful moments of writing, art, and dialogue.

I like the current arc tbh, basically like game of thrones x danganronpa x jojo

Also hisoka vs chrollo is of the hypest moment in the series.

It's just the author cant be damned to write and draw. There's like what ?10 ,new chapters the past 2 years

im up to date on the webtoon, im pretty glad its starting to become more popular. Been reading it for years. HxH is better IMO though. I don't want to spoil much about ToG. ToG is one of the reasons I started watching HxH as I was looking for something similar to ToG and Liar Game

If I wasn't binging it, the Cimera Ant arc would have been unbearable. As a binge watch, it was great tho

On top of Tower of God, everyone should try reading Solo Leveling. Its currently on breaker, but it has a pretty good story and artwork. Don't know if there are any plans for animation. Also, I swear I read this somewhere, but I think The Breaker was supposed to be revived this year.

Yep, lmao. When I first noticed it I was like 'well each 22 min episode corresponds to 30 sec lol.' In fairness, it's not the first anime to do that (Dragon Ball Super Tournament) and it won't be the last. Will always get a chuckle out of it for me.

Half the narration was unneeded as it was stuff we could figure out just by watching, and the episodes were already moving at a snail's pace by that point anyway, so you'd be watching three to four episodes with content that could've been fit into one.

I had to take a break for weeks to months at a time just so enough episodes would pile up that it'd feel like stuff was actually happening at a decent pace.

The series is good, but it suffers from various issues. Too many characters come and go. One character has been given like three pages of development at a time over all these years with little payoff. Others have just been abandoned. The author clearly has some general outline, but the week to week seems to be on the fly. Said outline is also way to vast in terms of the scope he's created for the series. You have all these big names constantly dropped, all this side lore in blog posts, and enough content to fill several series. It's a bit too chaotic to be an all time great, but it's fun.

yeah, my main complaint is how some of the world building is relegated to side materials I have to scour the internet for.

also one of the main antagonists, but I cant really discuss them without spoilers lol
