Emotional regulation. Try to sleep better, eat healthier, take a 20min walk every day, use a mood lamp, meditate. Gives me more room to deal with depression, although it's hard to get to that point to begin with.

Creativity and socializing also help. I like to write, play D&D or go to Meetups if I don't have anyone to hang out with. If you can socialize with friends, better. They reaffirm your positive traits

How do I?

I sit around and pity myself and immerse myself in nostalgic memories and "what ifs" while wasting time playing games until it's time to go to sleep and wake up and repeat. And then maybe something good happens and I can feel good for a few hours.

cannabis. good movies. good games. writing/recording music. listening to music. drawing.
writing your thoughts down.

other than that last one the rest are mostly just distractions i think but creative hobbies can be a good outlet for negative thoughts sometimes
