For my own safety I would let it go. They could be psychos looking for someone to start a fight with. They could have guns and be trigger happy. It's just not worth the risk, especially if it's two of them and one of you. Even if you're bigger than both of them put together and have a black belt in karate, it's not worth it.

Their combined weight couldn't have been more than 200 lbs. Would have been extremely easy to knock them out or break their bones

And if they want to pull a gun, well, my car is now a 2,100 lb bullet.

When we imagine fighting people, we almost always overestimate ourselves. It's just human nature. Because in our minds we always execute our strikes perfectly. In our minds they always act in the way we expect them to. If we think up some unusual surprise move or strategy, it works the way we want it to and they don't come at us first with some other surprise move that we didn't think of.

Real life is messier. We make mistakes. The people we fight are thinking humans who do things we don't expect. Even when our opponent is weaker and/or less skilled than us, they can get lucky or we can screw things up somehow. If you are an experienced fighter you should know this already.

And this gets exponentially worse when you are outnumbered. You might find one of them is surprisingly strong. And while you struggle for a few seconds, the second guy pulls out a tire iron or a knife and attacks you from behind. Or a gun. Think about that. Maybe one of them runs away at first, then when you've got his friend pinned down and are beating the shit out of him, he comes back and shoots you in the head. Or who knows? There are thousands of ways they could surprise you.

I never forgot the words my karate teacher in college told us. He said, for his own safety, he avoids real life self defense situations whenever he can. He assumes anyone he meets can fight better than he can. And this was a guy who had stayed karate since he was 4, who had gone to Japan to attain the highest rank of black belt possible in his martial art style, and who had won competitive fighting championships. But he never took chances when his own safety was at stake.

There was another guy in the same class. 6'4", big and muscular. Brown belt. One time he was walking into an alley and noticed three suspicious guys. But they were little shrimps so he thought he could take them. He kept walking. They jumped him, beat him up real bad, and took his wallet. Fortunately he had told his girlfriend he would be meeting her soon after, so she went looking for him and found him, barely conscious, and took him to the hospital.

Oh and speaking of not underestimating people who seem weaker, this same guy once broke his nose because this same girlfriend (who was less than 5 feet tall by the way) hit him in the face with a roundhouse kick while they were sparring. He should have blocked.

Let's say that you probably would have one. Let's say, even, that you had a 95% chance of winning the fight (which is extremely generous for a fight that's two against one). Is it worth the risk of what could happen to you if you lost, just to get the internal feeling of "winning" and not getting punked by these two random assholes you will probably never see again?

No matter who you are, I say you should never fight unless you absolutely have to, and never underestimate your opponent. In fact it's a good idea to try and overestimate, just to be sure.

I don't have time to respond to all of that, and I say this with no hubris: I've been trained to kill. Pure and simple. Quickly, accurately, and brutally. Yeah, this is different. I've already proven to myself what I'm capable of with real fights against people who actually train. It's not an overestimation at that point, and I would bet everything I own one lead hook would have flatlined the passenger. Two really doesn't mean anything when both are built like Erkel and you're jacked up on adrenaline with all the tools and weapons of multiple very effective arts. Western boxing, Muay Thai, BJJ and Greco wrestling.

I'm not even trying to sound invincible or like I'm the baddest dude on the planet. There's just no universe in which the two guys in question could even lift a tire iron, let alone hit someone with footwork and head movement with one before they wake up in the hospital. Like, they looked emaciated and were visibly shaking when they saw me coming up fast in the rear view.

But I am in agreement that it's not worth going to jail over two little bitches.
