We have it in Japan too. I rarely use it because there's like a $3 fee usually. We can also pay in cash at the convenience store for online purchases. I just use my debit card though cause it's easier

When would it not be odd? Pretty sure there are no more economies out there that have a non-fiat currency, so you'd have to be an absolute neanderthal to believe your money is more real (let alone more private or more secure) just because it's a piece of paper that you can touch.

I've literally never heard of ordering something and paying with cash on delivery other than food.

Like, even paying for the shipping on delivery is a thing of the past other than for companies.

Right now especially restaurants around here won't even accept cash. All payments must be digital or over the phone.

I don't think I've used cash in upwards of five years. Not really sure why anyone would want to, either.

I only use cash at bars so that I don't have to worry about forgetting my card at the end of the night. Makes it a lot easier to bar hop when you're not constantly closing your tab and you can set a budget for yourself.

No reason to use cash anywhere else though

Cash does have 66.67% in Bulgaria, although with a sample size that's pretty limited.

One thing I noticed with the Geolocation trends is that the US and Canada really love their credit cards. Outside the US and Canada, credit cards are way less popular with debit card generally being preferred more heavily. Asia seems to be about the only region where cash is still pretty popular.

I would expect tourists to be much more likely to pay with cash, since they wouldn't be expected to own a Danish credit card or debit card if visiting Denmark. If most places there aren't accepting cash, how would tourists (particularly non-European) pay for things while in Denmark?

Visa/Mastercard, etc is accepted internationally.
