The trouble with these topics and the fun memes about shooting the weapon out of their hands is that when someone posts something less obliquely ridiculous it's hard to tell if they are kidding or utterly ignorant of how firearms training and safety work.

Aiming is hard, which is why you aim for center mass, or not at all. This 'limb shot' suggestion is a common way to out people who don't know 'bout guns.

I remember watching a video once where this suicidal guy got the gun shot out of his hand by a sniper. It was pretty fucking dope. Police immediately rushed him after and I guess took him to a psych ward.

So you know nothing about guns. Id love to know where you came up with that 98%. Ever shot a gun? Ever shot a gun in a situation where you thought your life was at risk?

Because shooting someone in the leg is insanely difficult, especially so if they're moving. Also if you hit an artery they're gonna bleed out and die just as fast as if you shot them in the chest.

Snipers are a treat to watch work. The way theyre able to dissect targets under pressure is second to none. But, they only make up about 1% of any military or police force. Marksmen are a little more widespread and are just as impressive. Outside of that though youre dealing with people who do just well enough to certify with their weapons against paper targets. Does Biden really want police trained to shoot extremities first, which are often small and moving rapidly? Thats a good way to get a lot of police injured or killed.

I'm not saying it's appropriate for every situation. I don't even think he was there to do that. He was there to kill the guy if he went from suicidal to homicidal. He radioed to a superior saying he thought he could do it and they gave him a go ahead.

Yeah I don't know much anything about guns especially in a combat situation, sorry if I sounded dumb.

There still should be a better way for police to handle real, substantial threats to their well-being other than unloading on someone. There's just too many instances of police killing people when they didn't even have a weapon to begin with.

The main problem with american cops is they are trained to never retreat. Any other country you see cops backing off and retreating to deescalate the situation.
