It seems like the people with more interesting hobbies are less happy, because theyre chasing happiness.

You're not too wrong with that. Some people are just really reliant upon others.
This entire thing has thankfully not affected me much, but I'm an introvert and not one that brags about it. I just stay home usually.
The people complaining sound like whiny teenagers to me. They have no basic hobbies like TV, video games or books. When they do, it's like one.

Laziness is a good thing. People are always doing too much stuff.

because theyre chasing happiness.

Studies have been done that suggest that the mere concept of wanting to be happy or believing that you should be happy is itself a major trigger for unhappiness.

The happiest people tend to be people who don't even have a concept of happiness, or who just never think about it. The more we all worry about being happy or try to be happy, the less likely we ever will be.

It also tends to tie into this:

I definitely agree with this topic. I dont know if this was necessarily targeted at people who couldnt handle the quarantine or not, but it was really surprising seeing how so many people just really could not handle not going out and doing stuff.

And dont get me wrong, I like going out and doing stuff too, but as this pandemic has shown, its important to learn how to slow down a little too and appreciate simpler things too.

There is a balance, kids.

This applies to the Netflix watchers too. What do they do when the show runs out? They start something new. They need to be offered something new, additional or further experience to maintain happiness.

It would be impossible to watch everything out there in a lifetime because of the sheer amount of entertainment that exists.

Watching Netflix is now a hobby?
Also I'm happy with my hobbies. My favourite is going on walks/hiking as I see many beautiful sites. If you're chasing happiness as a hobby then you need new hobbies.

I wish I had the free time to watch all the stuff I want to watch on Netflix and Hulu and Disney Plus.

But I also want to be able to finish all my games, read all my books and comics, etc.

Yeah that too. I've started loading YouTube videos on my phone and computer at the same time.
