Dude if one police officer does something bad we should correlate that to the 100s of thousands of other law enforcement officials, and if thousands of "protesters" are stealing and committing crimes that should bear no reflection on anyone involved.

It's sad because this cop hating behavior is what got us into this mess in the first place. Tribalism is bad. Start looking at people as individuals rather than generalizing an entire group.

We have to look at the issue here. I know it's not all white families, but some raise their children just to hate and cannot let go of that hate due to it continuing with each generation. People hate cops because white cops treat blacks and Hispanics like trash, especially in New York. We are treated as if we are shackled slaves.

If I meet a single police officer I will presume he is probably a good person and means well.

If I look at an entire police department I want to burn it the ground, erase all the training manuals and liability procedures and start again.

Uh no, cop culture has been a cesspool for decades. Black people have been saying the same thing generation after generation, it's just now that police misconduct is being recorded. A group isn't just the popular culture among them. Generalizing them that way is no better than stereotyping a race for something that's common among that race. I'm not saying that it's not bad cop culture is not prevalent, and that not change is necessary. I'm saying you shouldn't assume the worst of any person based on the group they're in (minus obvious exceptions like the KKK).

One big difference is you don't choose your race, you do choose to be part of a corrupt institution (in this case the cops). Any good cop has already left or is a total rookie who still hasn't fully understood what their role is.

It's possible to think that police in the US have great systematic corruption, and also that police are necessary and that there are good cops obviously even if they are overshadowed by the bad ones.

Some people don't have any sense of nuance though.

I would just love someone to give any kind of rough estimate as to what percentage of cops they think are corrupt. One of the more annoying things about all this is that people are way too emotional. That emotion may be justified, but it doesn't really help trying to debate things logically.
