Please read Post #16 for the full string of her recent tweets. It would seem this started when she took issue with an article that says "people who menstruate" and basically said "why can't you just call them women?"

The answer being that there are some trans men who menstruate.

Can we at least acknowledge that "people who menstruate" is very clunky language. And that calling such people women for brevity wouldn't be a hateful thing to do?

Considering how important biological sex is, it does seem odd that there isn't a single term we can use when talking about people of a biological sex, how every term seems to be needed to be part of gender identity instead.

Why shouldn't there be a term to distinguish biological sex? I think that's all she was saying. In language we have completely erased the idea of biological sex because all of the terms that used to distinguish it have been taken now to refer to gender identity.

I think her point isn't a strawman since there is not single term in english that refers to biological sex.

Perhaps it's wrong to say trans people are trying to erase the idea of biological sex, but it's fair to say that elements of that culture have erased it from our language, is it not?

Which is why we should have a separate word for biological sex and gender identity.

Transmen can be men but they can't be male.
Or they can be male but they can't be men.

Something so our language can distinguish people based on biological sex, keeping in mind that doing so is never meant as pejorative in any direction. It's practical to be able to talk about biological sex.

So after that Cho took her side and JK just stopped writing her in iirc

I hate when they use these extremely rare deviations that often come with crippling health issues as if it means anything. It's no different than if we were classifying people based on having more or less fingers because some subset has random mutations.

You put all of these together and there's definitely a pattern. Also add literal hooked nosed goblins running the banks, house elves that love being subservient and Hermione acting as their savior, etc. We can chalk it all up to bad writing or we can see it for what it really is.

I'm not defending her. She uses stereotypes and sounds like she's trying to emulate Enid Blyton but I don't get what was wrong with Kingsley's name?
Also I was putting in context as someone who grew up in Ireland in the 90s there for Seamus so it's possible. But I sincerely doubt the woman is that clever
