of like several leaders all equal in power, and not one president at the top. unsure on what would be a good number for the council but they would decide things for the country. and maybe they would need to be qualified in some way other than just "they got voted in cause people like them". they would need to have demonstrated some proof of their great minds in some way. imagine if we had like a bunch of Albert Einsteins ruling the country

eh....sortof maybe. something like that. we don't have to be communist exactly. but I am not opposed to some bits of communism being mixed in.

All of the different industries/unions should have one leader at the top instead of a single figurehead, or something like that. And then when they vote they have weighted votes based on proximity to the issue

Maybe that's what they intended, but it certainly isn't even close to being true today.

That's because House and Senate are split. One party having majority of both absolutely rules the country.

Like a Supreme Court for executive power? Only they would be elected and not appointed?

The most powerful president was probably Lincoln, who frequently way overstepped his actual powers. Otherwise, the president is just one part of the executive branch. The executive can be severely checked by a diametrically opposed legislative branch.

maybe. these guys would not be just some branch of the government, they would be on top, replacing the role the President does right now.

This. Implying that the President of the US has any type of absolute power outside of Congressional approval is wrong. Can he have influence? Sure. But, he cant bend the government to his will.

How long would they rule for?

What youre suggesting is like the Chinese politburo where nationalists decide what is best for the country with no input from their citizens. I believe it flies in the face of everything the United States represented when it was created. But you arent the first person to suggest democracy is a failed experiment and a benevolent dictatorship would be better.

It's an idea. I mean it would take a lot of amending the constitution. But I'm unsure how much of a difference this would make in practice. The president doesn't really have all that much legislative power, which is most of the stuff that affects us. It would dilute responsibility and possibly slow decision making. But it would also weaken the two party system by allowing other parties to get their foot in the door.

I didn't really think about term limits. but if they prove to be wise and good, they could stay in office til death for all I care. or maybe resign if their mind starts to fade.

So the most literal sense of social democracy

I doubt it, it's an easily corruptable system if you go by the idealistic construct. Saying this as a social dem. Politics is complex.
