I want to try Legendia, just to say I tried it

Berseria by far. But you have to suffer through Zestiria first so that detracts from it.

Out of all the Tales of games I've played (Symphonia, Hearts R, Abyss, The World, and Vesperia) I'd say Vesperia is the best. That's not nostalgia talking either as I only recently played through Vesperia with the Definitive Edition. Abyss is a close second though. Would've been first if it weren't for how unapologetically hateable Luke was until after the fall of akzeriuth, that and honestly I couldn't stand his voice. Even Mieu's voice was more tolerable.

lol Hell no. It's combat is too limited, simplistic and dated, most of it's characters are unlikeable douchebags and it's story reeks meaningless technobabble.

Nope, it was the last game before the Tales team learned how to make combat good before unlearning it in Vesperia.

Abyss combat is dumb and barebones and Vesperia is where they really stepped it up. Only a noob like you would even say Vesperia is a step down from Abyss.

Xillia 2 has the best, no contest. It's basically Vesperia + the best parts of Grace's F. Only big flaw is that soloing is kinda encouraged and effective, having a team can bring you down. It also has the best movement

Vesperia is the second best. You have the most fleshed out combat out of the holy Trinity, on top of being free form almost to the level of the Xillias, and that's without overlimit.

Berseria is third because unlike Grace's F, you can fully customize your Artes, having a decent reason for full 3d movement (collecting souls), and Break Souls keep everyone unique.

Grace's F would be higher if Xillia and Berseria didn't exist. Grace's F is only fast and flashy. Stats determine combos and half of the moveset is tied to a tree. Luckily, everyone is unique and fun, and there's enough for everyone

Hearts R/ Innocence looks like steps above Abyss, but maybe not free form like any of the above. I'm always hearing/seeing good things about their combat.

it would be nice if these games, for once, would have the difficulty and variety to meet their complexity
it doesn't matter how many weird combos you can do in vesperia if the pacing is trash and the combat's insanely easy
i'm honestly shocked that the "let's head to the inn" memes were 100% true

edit: Actually, that's too harsh. Just because I barely remember anything about it doesn't mean it was that bad, just not very memorable.

Don't listen to the haters, it's one of the better Tales games. The cast is great and it has the best soundtrack in the whole series.

Berseria for me.

Though, to be honest, I bought a 360 solely for Vesperia when that was the only english option and it was worth every cent.

I've only played Berseria and half of Abyss, so of those I'd say Berseria is better, even though it's combat made no sense.

I hate Xillia 2. I beat 1 last week and then fired up 2 and immediately hated it. Silent protagonist, debt system, and overly complicated plot way too soon
