They stabbed a girl to the bone in three different places.

Warning for blood and stitches shown. Blood isn't up close or grotesque but still giving fair warning.

And they used that same knife on a total of 37 protestors, apparently cutting into the flesh of multiple people.

Cop should be put in prison for life

The LA area protests were peaceful til it wasn't. Also CA is pretty big in general. Pretty stark contrast between a place like Irvine or something vs. shithole San Fran. Massively different culture in Norcal and Socal too. Most people who live in Socal go to LA almost like a tourist imo. You'd never live there unless your job pretty much demanded you do or you have a ton of money to live in the nicer areas. Tons of crime there as it is with most major cities, probably some wack ass shit going on with the LAPD as a result.

In any case, somehow the situation is getting worse

The reason people are saying this stuff you don't like is because in response to the protests, cops in a lot of locations have gone on to double down on brutality. It is wide spread and common enough for the issue to be systematic and not just a few bad folks. If it was all happening in a specific geographic location or something, then the argument could have been made that it isn't cops in general that is the problem it is (insert specific thing here) that is.
