I'm pretty sure things might devolve at the 2:25 mark.

Yeah... I don't know if there's going to be time for explanations if you ride through a BLM protest whistling Dixie.

That's up to you. But I would think 25 grand isn't going to do a lot of good in jail if you run over people.

$100,000 for this (and I can think of 2 more horribly offensive old time country songs that would go for like $100,000,000 that I certainly will not post here).

Oh my God. I forgot that song existed. Yeesh.
And this happened...

After his song was pulled from Monday Night Football, Williams recorded a song criticizing Obama, ESPN and Fox & Friends, titled "Keep the Change". He released the track on iTunes and via free download at his website. The song garnered over 180,000 downloads in two days.

Williams continued to make his opinions of President Obama known and during a performance at the Iowa State Fair in August 2012, he called Obama a Muslim telling the crowd, "We've got a Muslim president who hates farming, hates the military, hates the U.S. and we hate him!"

On June 5, 2017, ESPN announced that Williams would return to Monday Night Football for the 2017 NFL season.

I don't know much about football. Are they still using his song?

"Ain't nobody looking back again" is probably a reference to Dixie, which actually play at 2:25. Plus "Song of the South" isn't exactly a phrase held in high regard thanks to Disney. And then there's this...

Cotton on the roadside, cotton in the ditch
We all picked the cotton but we never got rich

Oh.... I'm going to have to disagree on that one Mr Alabama. I don't think WE all picked the cotton...

Yeah, I guess Im going to need someone to explain this also. I couldnt find any indication online of it being racist either. Perhaps TC got confused and assumed the controversy surrounding the Disney film of the same name was somehow related?

You realize that cotton is picked to this day, correct? Well, I guess they have machines. But this song is clearly about someone who grew up poor on a cotton farm well after the civil war ended.

OK, you guys understand what Dixie is, right? The song of the Confederacy, about a slave longing to return to the plantation. Usually performed by black minstrels.

Fear no danger! Shun no labor!
Lift up rifle, pike, and saber!
To arms! To arms! To arms, in Dixie!

That's the song that Alabama's song is referencing.

Just listened to it, seems like song about a poor family with a small cotton farm during the great depression?

Unless I'm hearing it wrong and the wall street and roosevelt references are misleading me.

Nope, wildly unaware, hence the request for clarification.

Although even after one listen I think your interpretation of the lyrics is incorrect.

Regardless, to answer your question, no I wouldnt drive through a protest. Even though Im pretty convinced I could decorate the vehicle in a way that would make everything fine with that song. Just not interested in getting involved like that.
