If you have no gun experience, I highly recommend an AK.

So easy, a child could maintain it.

Gun maintenance is a real motherfucker, and people rarely bring it up.

Thats going to be a hassle for many people.

I have several guns, mainly shotguns and long rifles. But like Bill Burr I went with a tactical .22cal long rifle hollow point pistol for home defense. At the farm I only use my 7mm for prying coyotes.Or the 30-30 hehe.

.22 long hollow points are great for my house in town.

My advice is to purchase your 9mm suppressor 6m to 2 years in advance of buying your first 9mm gun. So, by the time you get your threaded barrel 9mm, you can officially pick up your suppressor (because it takes anywhere from 6m to 2 years to clear)!! Oh and be sure it is a piston (booster) threaded in 1/2 28! And don't buy a 10-14oz suppressor which is meant for rifles, get a 5-6 ozer.

You're welcome new gun owners!

Thankfully I live in Australia where there is strict gun control and really, no need to own guns

Have an S&W .357 Magnum.

Not big on it or guns, just inherited. I need to source a key for the safety toggle.

But mostly distant on the topic. I get how it can make people uncomfortable. I've listened to people trying to brag about owning one and I guess generally speaking, I never really feel confident about most others' maturity unless they're with their literal old man who clearly knows his way about shooting at a range.

I own a S&W M29 Classic in .44 Magnum, that think absolutely sucks to shoot. They put no thought at all into the grip angle so it hurts.
