It's a genre that I have seldom played in the past eight or so years, but every so often, I just want to go through one. I picked Digimon Cyber Sleuth from the backlog and went through the intro. When I finally gained control, I found it odd that in the cutscene just before, the background was bright, and here I was in this dark blue environment. I just chalked it up to a visual dissonance design flub by the developers.

I was given no indication of what I was supposed to be doing. I entered one area that apparently stored Digimon. I was hoping the woman here would help me out, but she didn't do anything after correctly deducing that I was lost. After leaving, I started walking around opening chests and touching glowing spots for items. There were a ton of these floating objects that I couldn't interact with too. I kept going through new areas and going up elevators without seemingly progressing the game, so I was starting to get a little concerned. Then, I began entering areas with people in plain view, and I couldn't speak to any of them.

After 20-30 minutes of repeating this over and over, the screen went weird, and there I was entering battle. lol what? I guess I know that battles are random encounters (why did it take so long to trigger one?), but more importantly, how the hell was I supposed to fight?

Thankfully, the game crashed then and there. I booted it back up, and went through the intro again, but this time when the cutscene ended and I regained control, I was in an outdoors-y bright area with tons of people and buildings and stuff. It made sense for me to be there.

I am now assuming that I encountered a bizarre bug that had me begin in the middle of dungeon or something and those people I couldn't talk to might have been people who would have battled me on the spot or something. I'm hoping that the bugs are behind me, even if this was humorous .

one time I loaded up my file, and the mc was stuck in the floor at her waist with her arms streched out, and all I could do was spin around in place.
