With Persona 4 Golden coming out for cheap on PC ($20!) I figured a lot of people will be playing it now so why not start up a nice discussion hub where you can ask questions, discuss the game, post fanart, thoughts, whatever! This is a masterpiece and a HUGE game, and it's even better talking about it with people. For me personally this will be my first time going through Golden so I am very excited to experience all the new content, I ADORE the original so to get even more of it just makes me so excited. This topic in nature will be great if you want to ask a question but also don't want to risk spoilers, the game has a lot of systems and the Persona community is always so nice to help other players along the way. There's no better time to start your life in Inaba!

What was added in the golden version?

Imo 4 was the best one.
3 and 5 both started off fantastic and then overstayed their welcome.
4 is the only one I didn't get tired of playing

never played this but i think i read somewhere that it's like P3Portable where you can gain/teach specific skills to your persona?

Make sure you're constantly fusing personas. Don't get attached to one persona >_> Your OG homeboy Izanagi should be DEAD AND GONE by fusing with another persona by the time you reach the 2nd dungeon

A lot from what I have heard. I have not played it but it has revamped combat, a whole new winter semester in school, 2 new social social links, more events throughout the year, new cutscenes, new personas, battles, a whole new dungeon. I'm sure someone else can answer better than I since I have yet to play it but it's definetly worth playing if you played the original.

People have said it's pretty good. You can use your mouse to select menu stuff so that's always a huge plus. I'm sure using a wasd control will be fine, it is a turn based game after all and you have that convenience so it should work fine.

Yeah, this is the easiest game to customize personas. Once you get a skill card and have Marie copy it, you can literally just buy infinite copies of it and use it however you want.

There's this weird motion blur that makes everything look kinda weird. Is there anyway to turn this off? idk if this was in the vita version too or not but it's really distracting

Damn! This game looks CRISP! I played this on PS3 using PS2 classics and the character portraits really pop.

I noticed that too. It's a bit... off, I think it has something to do with the framerate if I am going to make any guesses.

Something about the sound design in this game just really oozes comfort. I played P5 entirely with headphones yet it just didn't match this for some reason. It's the subtly in everything.

My friend never abandoned Izanagi. He just kept making him OP with skill cards and shuffle time and used him literally the entire game.

i just finished this game on the vita lol

good game, i enjoyed my time with it. though next time I'm playing this (probably not for another 10 years lol) I'll stick with a lower difficulty. playing this on very hard was... hard >_>

early game was so annoying, the most annoying boss was that video game guy. fuck that guy

very hard is just hard mode but with something like 60% reduced exp and money gains, it's complete garbage

I started the series with 4 Golden on the Vita. Definitely one of, if not the best JRPG Ive ever played. Was such a blast.

Couldnt ever finish 5 though...Felt like the writing took a noticeable dip in quality. Soundtrack and style were on point though. Think I should try 5 again?
