I was just asking everybody why tf they werent wearing masks. A few people said something along the lines of them not being scared and I was like IM WEARING THE MASK FOR YOUR BENEFIT NOT MINE YOU FUCKING IDIOT. (I didnt actually say those last three words.)

Some people seemed embarrassed, a few dudes looked pretty pissed at me but their girlfriends held them back lmao

Swing state Wisconsin but I live in Milwaukee and in a pretty liberal neighborhood within it at that. Its honestly surprising how few people are wearing masks now.

Are they mandatory in your state? If not, blame the spineless stores. My local grocery store actually hired security to make sure masks are on. I mean NY has made them mandatory, but some stores don't enforce it so they don't lose idiot customers.

It's really not that surprising. People are tired and bored of staying at home and decided not to give a fuck anymore...I saw it as soon as my state opened. Everyone acts like it's just a normal pre-covid day while the cases spike. smh

I went to a Chinese takeout place yesterday where they only had the window open; guy in front of me had a mask but took it off and was like within 3 feet talking to the guy at the window who also had his mask and wasn't wearing it during an order argument

Come to where I work, there's like 100 customers here and maybe 5 have masks. All us employees have them on.

TBQH, that's neither here nor there. The remedy for COVID-19 isn't being cautious in public, it's going to be from medical science.

What bothers me is that once a cure is in place...I feel like people will just prefer to be masked in public going forward.

I disagree slightly. Masks should be worn if social distancing cannot be done properly. Plus some of us do have allergies so we can't wear masks all the time.

I went to pick up a pizza the other day and about 60% of the workers had their masks on their chins. Something to keep in mind when ordering food out.

When I go to the store about half of the customers don't wear masks.

I mean, is it really that hard for yall to believe I would ask someone a straightforward but fairly innocuous question in a public grocery store surrounded by a ton of people? Im a pretty tall dude with a big beard but my 70-yr-old mom has also been doing this when she goes out.

I could see if maybe your only reference to the world outside your house is Jean-Claude Van Damme movies from the 80s where every character is a badass with a chip on his shoulder trying to be king of the concrete jungle, but otherwise...

As much effort as it took to get people to mask up in the first place, why would you think that? Even now, I'd say like 10% of the randoms I see are wearing them. Thats down from probably 40% a month ago. Its not even most people. If people don't even prefer to wear a mask in the middle of a pandemic, its illogical to think they will after.
